Description
Garnet is the second in my new series of Gemstone Fairies. Garnet is one of my favorite gemstones, and is one of the birthstones for the month of January. I have to be honest, this is my dream dress!
The reference model for the Garnet Fairy is from the lovely and will be entered in their huge Fairy contest, along with Tanzanite. Wish me luck!

I really love how you made the wings to seem so other-worldly, but natural in both pose and fashion the colour choice is perfect and the way the gown flows is lovely.

Thanks! I wanted to get that dark feeling garnets tend to have. They look deep and dark, then the light hits them and they flash with color. I love this stone a lot.

Being a January baby, I have to say I'm a bit biased but this piece is spectacular!
That dress is absolutely amazing. I especially love the detached sleeves and all the ruffle detail. Red normally isn't my favorite color but I don't really think there's too much. The lighter shades on the dress and the moon help to balance all the bright red of her dress and wings.
The way you did her face is amazing. It's small but I can still make out her expression. My only complaint would be that the arm holding the glowing orb looks a bit awkward, like she's holding her forearm away from the viewer.
