COMMON NAME: Mute Swan
IUCN REDLIST: Least concern (2008).
Mute swans are native to Europe and Asia, and were introduced to North America, South Africa and Australasia. It is less vocal than other species of swan, hence the 'mute' in its common name. Threats to this species mainly involves water/sediment contamination of lead and copper, and ingestion of lead fishing weights and hooks.

Thanks for the comment! Someone else mentioned about the eye aswell. Maybe I'll go back and try get more photos of the swan!
I have well over 100 photos on my computer, just waiting for me to put them up here!! Mostly animals, as I do alot of biodiversity and conservation work in rainforests. I'll be putting them up gradually over the next few months.

you should choose for the quality than the quantity
be sure when you take the photo to have not dark area on somewhere (like for exemple here on the eye).

I thought it was very clear to be honest, you could make out the fine hairs of the swan's down but what do I know. I look forward though to the next one with ever increasing trepidation.

I like the way the feathers can be seen, but the eye and bill aren't too sharp.

I noticed the lack of clarity in the eye more so than the bill. You have to recognise there is always an element of luck involved in this type of shot. The only way around it is to take so many shots that you're increasing your potential to get lucky.
I know what you mean about your emote lack of usage. :iconloveyelloeplz: I noticed after the sceond or third message. It doesn't say much for either your intellect or your creativity that you seem stuck on those three. I've been sending you loads of other ones but you just weren't getting the hint.

Yeah...I'm not telling you how many shots I took to even get this! Although I've gotten alot better since; alot faster at getting the shots I want, now that I've improved and am used to using the settings. Afterall, this was my first try using my SLR properly

I know! Swans are just one of those animals you really want to pet/touch, but their too vicious to do so!! Unfortunately!
