Magnificent bird! Have you ever read "The Trumpet of the Swan" by E.B. White? It is about a mute swan cob who learns to play the trumpet!

It is actually a delightful children's book by E.B. White, who is known as the author of "Charlotte's Web" (my favorite book as a child) and "Stuart Little", as well as many essays in The New Yorker. Here is a link for the book, but I am sure that it is in the children's section of your local library. One of the wonderful things about this book, as well as the other two, is that they were written for children but can be enjoyed by adults.
