i have been working on this every week since spring break and i am finally done! i have had this idea in my head for so long and i finally got it on paper. it has been a long journey with this one but i'm really happy with the colors and design, i hope you guys are too!

this is my entry for contest with the theme of dreams.

A Siren is an ancient Greek legend of dangerous women who lived on an island called Sirenum scopuli. The island was surrounded by cliffs and rocks and it was said that sailors who sailed near the island were compelled by the Sirens' enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast. No survivors ever lived to tell of their enchanting song. Sirens' voices appeal to the spirit, not to the body which is why resisting their call is impossible. This painting is a representation of a Siren dreaming of her ancient home and what has become of it. Even the Siren is called back to her home by her spirit just like her songs do to her victims.
