Description Thankfully my idea for how to make the jar on this sculpt worked perfectly. I used a clear polyester resin instead of an actual jar.

For those that don't know, this is Dr. Fetus. He is the villain in the game "Super Meat Boy".

And soon you shall. Microsoft finally approved the update to the XBLA version which means more levels will be added to it soon via The Internets and the level editor for the PC version should be added this month.

Well he does kind of break the game so it wouldn't be fair if he was allowed on the leaderboard.

Daaamn man, you read my mind and you beat me to it! This looks fantastic! Major props for coming up with a solution to the glass jar problem. I have two jugs of plastic resin that I have been saving for a Pikmin project that I've had waiting in my queue for a long time. I could use it to fashion a jar for the Doctor...

I've never worked with this plastic stuff before though... it's part of the reason why I have neglected to use it. I'm scared of f-ing up my Pikmin diorama. Do you have any tips for working with the stuff? Or how you shaped the jar?

I'm not sure it would be the best option for the Pikmin unless you can find a primer that will stick to the surface of the clear smooth acrylic or polyester. Though if you have some resin that turns white when it cures then that is much easier to paint without a primer.

I did this by trial and error but I do have some general tips. Be sure to wear gloves as this stuff will stick to your skin and won't come off easy. Be in a well ventilated area when using resin. Use water to figure out exactly how much resin you will need before hand.

And lastly if you're going to use it for a clear jar like I did remember that anything stuck inside will be magnified. That fetus in the jar is actually about half that size but looks larger because of the resin.

The jar was made with a mold. I was lucky enough to have two things I could make a mold of and have the sculpture be the right size compared to my others, a thing of liquid Sculpey and a tube of paint. After the mold was made a suspended the fetus sculpt with string into the middle of the resin.

Thanks! I actually plan on making most, if not all, the characters that appear in the game. That includes bosses and the exclusive characters the other versions of the game will have.

You're actually the second person in two days to mention wanting to buy these sculpts. If you're serious then you should know that I emailed Edmund McMillen, half the team who made the game "Super Meat Boy", and he quickly responded back saying I could make duplicates and sell them for profit. I just can't say that they're official and he wants me to make a set for him if I do decide to do this.

Very nice! What did you use to contain the fetus?
