Description
The second batch of Goblin concepts for my work contemporising Christina Rossetti's Victorian children's poem 'Goblin Market'.In this group we discover the owl and ratel (honey badger) faced goblins who make up the full compliment of animal faced goblins described by Rossetti in the poem. I think of all the goblins I ended up designing for this project I like the owl faces most, they just came out so close to how I imagined them to, plus they look both malevolent and utterly insane, which is fairly appropriate to the average owl (and goblin, for that matter!).
As ever, they've all got names and personalities, so here goes:

If I had to pick what interpretation of the goblins came close to what I pictured, I'd say that this perfectly fits the image!
I have to point out that #7 (the wombatface) is my favorite of the above goblins.

Yey, Ftagn slug face! I think my favourite is the very, very sinister Grandville. Who knew that a barn owl could look so evil.
Do I have to mention about how excellent the colouring is? I think it's the kind of green/blue highlights you add to your characters that makes me drool over my keyboard.

great concepts making great use of the animal aspects, however every-time i look at "sinister" sid i think i lose a year of my life :s
