Description
“Continuing on the more animalistic creatures on this event, we are discussing the Bullfrog on the 56th.”
“Bullfrog; [Bool-frawg]”
“Despite the silly name, the Bullfrog is an amphibian that shouldn’t be taken lightly. These behemoths are quite formidable, boasting fairly strong defense with optimal offense. Physically, Bullfrogs are incredibly similar to common frogs and toads, sharing similar structures and behaviors. Their inherent danger comes from their physical attributes and feeding behavior. A massive percentage of their body is their mouth and stomach. Bullfrogs are renowned for their massive tongues, which are able to shoot outwards at shocking speed. Bullfrogs have a major resistance to blunt trauma and would often have a variety of blunt attacks as a result. However most notorious, is the Bullfrog’s inherent hostility towards anything smaller than it. Truly a gluttonous beast, Bullfrogs will eat anything and everything it can before winter seasons. This nature can be used as an advantage for adventurers.”
“Armored; [Ahr-merd]
“By far the most common variant of Bullfrog around, the Armored Bullfrog will roam the grasslands and plains of Estea in search of food. Armored Bullfrogs have an average lifespan of 10 years with an average size of 12 feet or 3.66 meters. Physically they share similar bodily structures and functions as regular frogs, however Armored Bullfrogs have much larger mouths and cheeks to accommodate their tongue and diet. Additionally, Bullfrogs retain their tail and boast large horns. However their most iconic trait is their tough armor, which covers their upper head and lower body. With similar plating on their cheek and tongue. Armored Bullfrogs weld their tongues like devastating yo-yos, with surprising speed and precision. If this attack doesn’t work effectively, these Bullfrogs would simply ram their armored bodies into their targets. If all else fails they would simply attempt to eat their target whole. Socially these amphibian beasts live in groups, spending every other day resting with its group and the remaining days hunting. Armored Bullfrogs are remarkably lethargic, who will often hunt for easy prey. Like adventurers.”
“Barbed; [Bahrbd]
“A rare variant of Bullfrog, the Barbed Bullfrog is a far more deadly adversary than their armored peers. Often living in plains and canyons, these Bullfrogs do not share the nomadic lifestyle as Armored Bullfrogs do. Rather, Barbed Bullfrogs are territorial beasts. Barbed Bullfrogs have an average lifespan of 12 years and an average size of 15 feet or 4.57 meters. Physically similar to their Armored Bullfrog peers, Barbed Bullfrogs share their large mouths and cheeks. However the horns of the Barbed Bullfrogs are much sharper, splitting into two ends. Additionally, this amphibian behemoth bears razor sharp teeth. Moreover, Barbed Bullfrogs are known for their bladed armor across their upper head, lower body, cheeks, and tongue. With their tongue capable of spinning rapidly in similar fashion to a saw blade from hell. Speaking of saw blades, the Barbed Bullfrog is capable of spinning rapidly, using this to ram into targets to attempt to shred them into pieces. It’s fair to say that these Bullfrogs are incredibly hostile, as they will attack anything and everything that isn’t a frog, which is interesting as they are friendly to the Amphibian species in Estea. Socially active, Barbed Bullfrogs patrol their territory in small groups.”
“When adventuring it's surprising how many amphibians are out to kill you from the start. The Free tribes of the Amphibians and the Bullfrogs. Not much per say, but it's odd that there are two. Bullfrogs by all accounts are a dangerous foe, massive frogs with a resistance to blunt attacks is not something you wish to see in your travels. Luckily they go into hibernation in the winter. Unluckily however, spring is their breeding season. So plan your travels through Bullfrog territory carefully, and bring like a jar of flies just in case.”
