Description “Today is another day, the thirty eighth if I’m correct. On the similar mark as the Dagonian, I introduce you to the Amphibious.”
“Amphibious; [Am-fib-ee-uhs]”
“Although viewed as mirrors of each other, these two species cannot be more different, as they only share their amphibious nature with each other. To start, this race was actually discovered first, granting them the name Amphibious. Secondly and most prevalent, the Amphibious are closely related to various frogs and salamanders of Estea rather than ocean life. Amphibious are much more animalistic, bodies and structures closely resembling the animal of their basis. Their major difference from Dagonian is their hostile nature, although some are aggressive towards others, the Amphibious are poisonous creatures, with the exception of Axolotls. Some are poisonous when consuming the toxin, others are dangerous to touch. With others even bearing venom, this species is dangerous and poses a threat to the uninformed. Although the ones living amongst others in civilizations have been tested for their toxic extent when moving in, caution is advised with approaching one in the wild. As the Amphibious are still very wild in nature, similar to Lures, the process of integration is still ongoing.”

“Frog; [Frog]”
“The most common of these Amphibious, the Frog makes their home in the marshes, forests, grasslands; mostly anywhere with fresh water available. Frogs have an average lifespan of 50 years with one of the quickest maturity rates, Frogs reach adulthood at 1 year of age. Their average height is 3 feet and 6 inches or 1.07 meters. Physically, Frogs are short and stout. Interestingly, this variant classification also includes the Toad subvariant. Nonetheless, this variant is known for their incredible leg power, able to 5 times their height. Not all Frogs are poisonous, those that are, are poisonous to the touch. Frogs are relatively water dependent, requiring moisture at least one a day. Moreover, Frogs have a weakness to the cold, as they are cold blooded, they can enter deep slumbers when exposed, they cannot perish from the cold alone, however their activity slows to a crawl, making them vulnerable. Socially, Frogs live in tribes and castes, typically staying in their group for life. Frogs are very territorial as well, but their methods of confrontation vary depending on the group. They either bellow a sonorous war cry, or cast a full assault. Frogs are the most hateful towards the Fallen and the Free.”

“Salamander; [Sal-uh-man-der]”
“The second most common of the Amphibious, the Salamander will make its home in the marshes, forests, or grasslands. This variant has the average lifespan of 65 years and they mature at the age of 5. Moreover, Salamanders have an average height of 6 feet and 2 inches or 1.88 meters. Physically, Salamanders are ridiculously long, their bodies are silly looking at first glance. Moreover, they are very dexterous and quick. All Salamanders are poisonous, as their secretions are toxic to the touch. An interesting ability this variant has is the capability to remove its tail at will, the tail writhes and wiggles as it acts as a distraction for the Salamander to escape. Moreover, some Salamanders are capable of walking on walls. Like Frogs, Salamanders are dependent on water, as their young must be born submerged and their skin requires to be moist. Unlike Frogs, most Salamanders chose to walk on all fours, only standing upright when convenient or necessary. Socially, Salamanders live in tribes and are generally more hostile than Frogs. Attacking others on sight rather than when trespassing. They dislike the Fallen and the Free.”

“Axolotl; [Ak-suh-lot-l]”
“A popular variant, the Axolotl is a rare variant of the Amphibious. They can live in caves and lake complexes. Axolotls have an average lifespan of 55 years and mature at 4. Additionally, they have an average height of 5 feet and 6 inches or 1.68 meters. Physically unique, Axolotls are most water dependent of the three, although classified as amphibious in both senses, Axolotls won’t survive long on land. Furthermore, Axolotls are the only variant of the three to be completely harmless, none are venomous to the touch or deadly otherwise. Axolotls are incredibly special for their regenerative properties, capable of restoring lost limbs, organs, even its brain. As such they are the most studied in the medical field. Socially, Axolotls are the kindest of the three, living in solace or small groups. Moreover, they are the most common Amphibious to live in civilizations, living happily in the comforts of modern technology. They enjoy the company of most species.”

“It is interesting how the Amphibious conglomerate, as they split into two social groups, the Fallen and the Free. The Fallen is the rudely named Amphibious who live amongst others in the delight of modern civilization. The Free are the wild Amphibious who live in tribes and castes. The two groups hate each other, and by extension, hate civilization and tribe structures themselves. It is not uncommon for entire tribes to raid civilizations on the basis of a Fallen being present there. Although most attempts have failed, this hatred and classism brings to light some of the hardships present when integrating species to other civilizations and cultures.”
