Description So here is my "finished" 1/35 little bird. anyone who has read my last few post knows this one was a struggle for me and i am really disappointed by how it came out. half of it was because it was a nasty kit the other half is all my fault. i really couldn't get into this one, and mistake after mistake i got SUPER frustrated with it. anyways i say "finished" because i left the cool weapon systems off the bird (hoarded away) and there are a few other things i could of done to it but really didn't really feel up to spending more time/work on this pile of junk.
this kit will be getting bashed pretty soon here and i will be making a couple of projects from this bird. hopefully i will have more fun thinking something up and using the parts for something much cooler....

1/35 and complaining about the size? then you better do not try to build an 1/100 AH-1 =3

gundams? seriously? im more a MACROSS guy.... and for scale, im pretty used to smaller ones 1/144 for planes and 1/100 for choppers, sadly those scales seems to be desapearing......

the only ones i have from macross come pre painted and pre assembled, but i think there lots of modelkits (but not sure if they can transform)

not sure, its just back in UK owner of Jameson Models suggested i should try em due to their figures that comes with kits vs no figures in many kits like Revel, Tamya and Airfix.

ahhhh cool. yea i haven't really seen them much for armor modeling. i see them all the time for aircraft and always hear great things.

Just imagine the possibilities...an X-wing painted in your personal markings, chasing down a Tie Starfighter - also from Fine Molds - above the surface of a planet with massive chickens.

Thats great to hear! I'd like to see your take on an a/c build. I'm sure your next will be better, just do your homework on the kit before hand! One day i'll build a tank or something along those lines.

enc86 In reply to AEisnor [2013-05-27 02:21:38 +0000 UTC]

yea its the homework part that really bit me. i still wanted to workout side my comfort zone so i picked up a 1/35 PBR but going into it i knew its a high quality kit and even tho its a boat leans itself to how i build tanks.

love to see a tank or armor kit from you someday. maybe a canadian leopard 2 hint hint XD or you guys use some sort of variant of the LAV/Stryker hull.

Can't wait to see how that boat comes out! My grandfather built a couple battle ships a long time ago and they seem like pretty cool models.

I found an armor model in my basement. I think it's my dads. Maybe he will let me build it!

the front bubble is all kinds of messed up,un-even and has gaps. some it the kits fault some of it me saying screw it.

master-ninjabear In reply to enc86 [2013-05-26 03:55:09 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm...I used to use this gunk called Castoflex, from the Castolite Company.

Flexible molding latex goes on as a paste, air dries in 10-20 minutes to a "rubber glove" consistency.
I'd spread it on my clear parts while they were dry fit in place, then pop them out for glue.
Spray paint right over it, then peel the Castoflex off and ta-da!

The drawback is it's very expensive, and since Castolite got bought up (I don't remember the name) the stuff is a bit runny.
Still, if you can think of an acceptable substitute, it's a way to go.

tho i am really excited about my PBR, really cool history and neat model.
