this was a marching cadence we had in basic traning....a little bird with a yellow bill.... was sitting on... my windowsill... a little bird with a yellow bill.... was sitting on my windowsill.... i lured him in ... with a piece of bread... and then i smashed... his f#$%ing head.... i lured him in... with a piece of bread... and then i smashed his f#$%ing head.... the moral of... the story is... you want some head... you need some bread.... the moral of... the story is... you want some head you need some bread......XD i bet you didnt think it would go there ohhh drill Sargent Dodson was a short ill-tempered twisted individual but i loved his cadences and he was hilarious. He would run into our barracks in the middle of the night with a gas mask on with a fake m60 machinegun and scare the hell out of the fireguard(night sentrys)

i have thought about it but because of coast i will have to decide on ether a r/c chopper of tank in the future and really want to plan my r/c in great detail.
yea these little birds can be hard to get a hold of, especially in my scale. i hear ya tho i am pretty OCD about 1/35. love having everything size comparable on the shelf.

Lol! When I first saw the pic, I instantly recalled your previous comments on the kit. Specifically the one concerning a "50/50 chance that it might be used for parts". Of course my mind leapt immediately towards acts of violence and I started to laugh diabolically!
However, upon reading the accompanying blurb, I find that is not the case. While most of my rather fractured psyche applauds your decision, there is a small contingent of trouble makers who were quite disappointed that there would be no ensuing carnage....

lol i had some diabolical laughter myself. at one point while muttering obscenities, i realized how easy it would be just to crush the bird and call it done, but in the end i really want a 1/35 bird and am a masochist XD

lol i know its a shocker to see me do a bird, the good side as you say. its not really the size that bothers me(i have built alot smaller) its just really freaking finicky and a bitch to get glued up, this kit has no gluing guild/pins and was a real test of wills. think i made thru the worst tho!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
enc86 In reply to AEisnor [2013-05-21 16:18:34 +0000 UTC]
yea it is weird and it wants me to drill holes for parts with out any connection pins as well, overall is a very odd one for me. yea now that i have her closed up i am breathing a bit easier but still have that front bubble and weapon system to worry about
yea my smallest are the 1/35 German motorcycle, soviet aerosani and mutt jeep.

AEisnor In reply to enc86 [2013-05-22 16:09:29 +0000 UTC]
That seems very odd indeed... What company produced the kit? I've never come across one like that. The main thing is you were able to see past those shitty instructions and get it together. I have always struggled with clear parts, its so easy to fog them... What I have been doing now is with a toothpick I apply minimal amounts of glue along the edge where the clear piece will sit and then put it on. That way there is no risk of glue getting where it shouldn't be. You probably know all that though lol

enc86 In reply to AEisnor [2013-05-22 16:29:34 +0000 UTC]
yea it is by FAR the worst pile of crap i have tried to put together in the years since i have got back into modeling. it was produced by Dragon, and is just a pile of shit lol. i will get it together but i fear it will look really crappy but hey i deserved a fail every once in awhile.
yea i have got the bubble mostly on tho it really looks like crap. i used testers clear glue(made for clear parts) and have polished out some of the imperfections with some furniture polish. it really is a bad fit tho, and no realy way to get it right(as it has no guides, slots) and is very uneven. plus the ridges in the glass were uneven and extremely hard for me to mask, so they are sub-par as well.
right now i am just gonna try to finish it up, dont think i will even make a base or use my nice resin figurine i had got for it. tho this kit has made me really want to buy a good chopper kit to redeem myself......

I went to the local hobby store yesterday and saw some kits by Dragon and they were not cheap, up there in price with Tamiya kits. I'll steer clear of them for sure. we all fail every now and then. I built a T-6 almost a year ago and really failed on it... I also have a 1/32 Sopwith Camel that I keep screwing up and putting away.
I have some glue made for clear parts, I think its the same stuff. I find it takes a long time to try and the bond isn't that great... That kit really does sound like a pile of shit all the way around. I'd probably just give up lol
Revell has a few choppers they have a 1/72 scale German Sea King (I have that kit) it looks quite nice, they they also have a Mil-24 and a couple for under $20 Canadian a Huey and the other is a Bell H-13H which was used in the TV show M.A.S.H.

enc86 In reply to AEisnor [2013-05-25 00:57:16 +0000 UTC]
yea they can be pricy, i have done a few of their 1/35 fig sets and they were nice. some people really like Dragon and i just think this was a poor kit as i have heard great things from people. tho not to be a plastic snob but i really didn't like the plastic at all compared to revell, tamiya and trumpeter.
yea i usually make my own for clear with some white glue and water but found some of that glue in my stash and decided to give it a go. yea i was able to finish it but man its pretty awful. it really was a giant pile of shit and i got pretty frustrated. glad to just get it done and kinda proud i didn't quit. i haven't quit in about two years, last time it was on a shitty cheap enterprise d.
yea the one good thing about this kit is it made me want to do a proper chopper in 1/35. i have been cruising and reading reviews this time. i found a hind i really really want but its about $80 so ill be waiting a few months on it.

Having good plastic to work with is always a bonus, I prefer softer plastic. I'd glad you got it finished! Much better then quitting, maybe you could do a diorama with a crashed helicopter! 1/35 scale would be quite big! I don't have the shelf space for real big models.

enc86 In reply to AEisnor [2013-05-26 14:36:41 +0000 UTC]
yea i am kinda of a plastic snob by this point lol i really like the harder(not brittle tho) plastics of tamiya and trumpeter. easier to work with and glue.
yea i was thinking about a crash scene and because this isn't to big should take up much self space.

AEisnor In reply to enc86 [2013-05-27 02:17:22 +0000 UTC]
Well I guess I don't like real soft plastic... Like you I don't like brittle plastic, thats what I meant lol

Great weathering effects on dat hammer! Lol and cant wait to see the finished bird! I dont build aircraft as i always find the kits too flimsy to my liking, guess im too spoilt by bandai's gundam hard plastics. XD

thanks man, this one really is a freaking challenge for me. i hear ya, i am spoiled as well, most of the armor kits i do are of high quality and have very nice plastic. this one pretty much is all the reasons i hate building aircraft and is way beyond fiddly for me.

lol yea, i had taken the contents pic about 3 days ago but didn't post it till i got the bird under control. i really wasn't joking, there was several times i thought i would just scrap it for parts. think i am thru the worst of it tho but the weapon systems and front glass bubble look pretty daunting.
