For my series of illustrations of MASKS.Everybody must think like me , look like me , and draw like me .....ops . sorry for that .

I have to say, if there is one thing that Mike DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko, alongside the plethora of others that make up the Avatar writing staff know how to do, and do so WONDERFULLY, is creating truly compelling characters interwoven within a captivating storyline. It always amazes me how much the people working on this series know so well how to develop characters and the relationships and personalities surrounding them, and each new hero/villain that is introduced in the series always succeeds in fascinating the audience in a most awesome way, and Amon here is certain no exception to this trend! ^^
And, of course, getting the opportunity to see your amazing painting work on this great character is an even more awesome treat indeed. I will say, I really love the painting style you chose to execute this particular piece with. The soft brush-stokes you used here give the artwork as a whole a very elegant, traditional-style look and feel, and your superb shading techniques give the piece a most excellent 3D-looking effect all at the same time; a truly impressive masterpiece you have created here indeed once again, my friend! ^^
Equality or tyranny; which is Amon truly fighting for? I suppose we may find that answer out soon enough when and if he is finally un-masked as the first season of this new Avatar series draws to a close...

It makes him look all the more freaky that the eye-holes in his mask seem to be considerably lower than his actual eyes. And it does wonders to make his face look more blank and emotionless too.

Seeing him in action on the show, I don't see how he's going down. He uses his words to sway the masses and in combat well what bender wants to get near someone who can take away their bending?

Amon you bad man. I have come up with the theory that he is somewhat related to Fire Lord Ozai for some reason. Because it was not Tarrlock, and it was not likely to be Aang (and anyone who thought otherwise is fucking retarted) Remember Ozai was the first person to have his bending removed. He might have also escaped or pardoned from prison and started a new family with another chick (or maybe even Ursa had a new family during banishment) he might have kept his heritage a secret from his supposed son, Amon, and may, or not have been killed by another firebender. Even to the hypothetical extreme that some day, Zuko could have killed his own father and might have scared Amon's face in the same way Ozai did to him

Powerful piece. He is one of the best villain designs I've ever seen, because a bit of what he says makes sense, but you still know that he's wrong. You still know in your gut that his path leads the world to tragedy, even if he claims for it to be in the name of justice.

Amon is definitely one of the Avatar series' most compelling bad guys. He's a bad guy but you can't help but feel that, arguably, he's got a point. Unlike the Last Airbender series' evil dudes he's got a reasonable ideology (ie something other than " want to take over the world because I'm evil har har har"), believable reasons but extreme methods. Oh and that badass mask he drags about on his face.
Also on a side note, awesome drawing XD.
