well, he still did at that time. it was only after he became a "man" so to speak, and discovered the sheepherder's female cats a mile away from us, that he went wild.

I love his stance. He is the king of his jungle, that being your neighborhood. Cats are cool creatures.

this cat really IS an alpha male - very muscular and masculine. i think that's part of the reason he became so aloof. we actually got him (well, i was able to talk my husband into letting us get another cat) because we desperately needed a mouser - our house was overrun by mice, and my old cat minka, who used to hunt, would just sit, as my husband said, "on my lap and watch while the mice danced on the cabinets." anyway, he was a great mouser, even as a small kitten, but i guess he decided he wanted to go onto hunting for bigger and better things... and, ahem, our "neighborhood" is the mountains, with hundreds of unpopulated miles around us, except for a mile down the road where there are a few families

no no. Ferrets that live in the wild eat mice. No mine are still in their cage in my room. They wouldn't make it one day out in the wild, they aren't even afraid of my dogs.

They are a lot of fun. I have one that whimpers in her sleep, I have no idea what ferrets dream about.

That's a brilliant picture, I thought he was a bobcat at first. It's really funny how bunnies and cats end up getting along sometimes. My old rabbit used to beat up the cats... then they got to be pretty decent friends.

i think it worked because they were both young... and bored... together. the bunny didn't want to hang with us much, but i think she was intrigued by the idea of something that was furry and the same size as herself.
