Yeah, and I heard same with Spider-Man 3. I was hoping for Venom, but I thought it'd be like Darth Vader in III, where he'd become Venom at the very end of 3 and then that'd be Spider-Man 4; rather than Sony trying to force it into the 3rd movie.

Thanks for the link.
Now I've concluded that the movie, if they did do M. Night's vision, would be more than one or two hours!

I think The Last Airbender Movie was terrible. Don't get me the wrong way, but it ruined the series. Avatar (anime series) was one of the greatest things that happened to me. I wanted to cry when I watched the movie. Seriously. I felt really disappointed. I don't think that only 25 minutes would change something. 'Cause the actors choise, the pronunciation of the names, the graphics in general... It was a shame. And for those who never watched the anime, only the movie, will get the totaly wrong idea. Forever.

Well I don't think it ruin the series seeing how it's not a continuation of the series.
But have you ever watched the clock during epic movie battle scences? A lot can happend in one minute, let alone 25 minutes.
I myself saw great acting and the pronunciations were taken from another nationality point of view.
As for the graphics; they were at their best, but lot of cut out for the 3D stuff.
Me and my family walked out satisfied with what we saw. Well then I guess I feel bad many are not like me when it comes to movies; not caring what happends just as long as we get something. I still don't understand why many didn't like Spider-Man 3; that was the best of the three Spider-Man movies to me.

That's your point of view. For me and my avatar-fan friends, was awful. I will keep being an Avatar fan forever. But I will try to forget about that movie.

Ok, but for me and many friends, the movie was best of 2010. We'll remember it for ever, and our looking forward to the other two movies; along with hoping for a Legend of Korra movie.

I have the McDonald's toy, a fan with Katara's picture on it, and the Earth Nation symbol carved into it. This tells me the Kiyoshi Warriors scene was cut so last minute they didn't have time to tell the toy production line until it was almost too late. Visually, the sets and costumes were breath-taking, and it was an impressive challenge to even attempt to adapt an animated classic into live action. But it does seem like the effects were lacking, the editing was off, and it was badly researched and badly written, many key points for the next season cut or re-written. Not to mention one of the key successes of the show, it's great humor was sadly absent. Despite my disappointment, I did rent the DVD to give it a second chance, because I wanted to see the Kiyoshi Warriors scene. I was re-disappointed to see it left out. As for the name pronounciations, I can understand Shama wanting to use the original dialect's pronounciation. With the exception that this is a world to itself with it's own culture. It's not literally Asia, it's just based on it. It just looks badly researched.
I am curious though. This photo is evidence that these 25 minutes were shot. Why is it not a drop of them appeared on the DVD, even in unfinished form?

I guess if they really did show 25 minutes of deleted scenes, they might as well put it into the movie. It's amazing how much can happend in 25 minutes of film.
I don't think the movie was badly researched, because there was a lot in the movie that matched the show.

i disagree. i'm not trying to be mean, but the mispronounciation of names, actor choices, graphics in general and the portrayal of each character were utter disgraceful and no extra twenty-five minutes could make it better. This was considered to be the worst work that M. Night presented, even up against "Lady in the Water" and "The Village". its interesting that you support it and i will say it's honourable, but the movie was not M. Night's best...or really best of 2010.

I think 25 minutes can fix it. I've watched many action scences with time in other movies and it's surprising how much action can happen in one minute of film, let alone 25 mins of film.
Do you seriously think they were too lazy to look up pronounciations? If so, they wouldn't have taken the time to make the movie at all. Those are the Asian pronounciations.
I think the actors and portrayals fit very well, and many agree that it was the best film we've seen last year, so it'd be even better when they restore all that was taken out or reshot.

Longoria-mangaka In reply to Winter-Phantom [2011-03-11 03:52:58 +0000 UTC]
I don't believe they were too lazy but they didn't correctly associate certain names with certain cultures--therefore the names were thrown off. The names were mixtures of actual cultures, but in the pronounciations they used it was all wrong. In chinese Iroh is "Eye-Roh" not "EE roh"; they had it as if it were Korean or Japanese. Aang I can possibly understand since it can be taken from India, Thailand or a few other of the countries they used names from, but there were others that just threw people off.
If the names were pronounced improperly in the television show someone would have complained and somehow it would have been corrected. They needed no tweaking of the names in the movie, which infuriated several fans and even irritated employees working with the original animated series (although it wasn't just names that irritated them).
Well that is also your opinion to believe that the actors and portrayals fit very well and to believe it was a good movie, just like it is my opinion that it was a disappointment to what i was expecting with/without the extra twenty-five minutes and I have no intention of bashing your opinion. I merely wished to state this.
Again I did though find it interesting that you were standing up for it and I applaud it I just don't agree with the reasoning behind it.

I guess I would have to say there are a few times they tweak with names in other medias. Like have have Uranus; which is called "Ur-ren-us", but many change it to "Ur-rain-us", lol.

Best and worst is an oppinion, not a fact. So for me and many others, it was the best, with great acting, great CG and a great strip.

The following petition represents us wanting M. Night Shyamalan to give us his original 125-minute version of "The Last Airbender" which he filmed before summer-2009...much better than the version we ended up seeing in theaters. The original 125-minute version was praised by critics/insiders (published reviews) weeks/months before the movie was released.

I watched the movie the first day it came out. My mom has never seen the series and was confused through out the whole movie. But the only thing that really disappointed me was there were no freedom fighters. And they are my favorite characters.

This showed you the studio was not serious with the picture. The tragedy is that M. Night had to take the heat from all who hate him and the film. I will support an extended edition of the film but I doubt this version will cover the entire Book 1.

Paramount basically treats any film from Nickelodeon as a kiddy film. Such is the case with Unfortunate Events and spiderwick.

Yes, it's not right that M. Night was force to take the fall for the studio; it's just about money with them. Kind of the same reason they're rebooting Spider-Man rather than making the 4th movie.

25 minutes of extra scenes could not POSSIBLY make up for a film riddled with plot holes, errors, inconsistencies with the original storyline and character development schemes, and bad directing.
