This is the hoopskirt for my Padme Cut Senate Scene Gown. (Original: [link] ) This gown was in the movie Star Wars: Episode II but was ultimately cut from the movie. The gown is based on Elizabethan/Tudor lines, but the hoopskirt is based more on mid-victorian. Elizabethan hoopskirts were more conical with a bumroll, this skirt is a little more flat in front with a bit of a bustle on the back. I wanted the front to be as smooth as possible, so I quilted muslin, and I threw a Naboo design in the front for funsies. I put ruffles along the rest to soften the lines of the hoops and hopefully be cooler temp-wise than quilting. It has adjustable ties on the inside so I can control the bustle height, and it has pockets in it as well.
