Description
I finally got another chance to take pictures Monday (the weather actually cooperated), so I hauled the dressform outside, dressed it up, and snapped away!
I've been finishing up bustles that have been sitting around half-completed for ages now, to get them posted up on Etsy .
This one is created traditionally, with internal ties at specific points to create the bustle drape. But, the cool thing is, this isn't the only way it can be bustled up - by changing the ties on the inside, and what loops they go through, you can create a ton of different looks out of it (check one of the listings in my Etsy shop for the images showing three more ways to wear them )
I love versatility - if something just serves one purpose, it's kind of bland to me. That's why I make all of my corsets (well, most, at least) reversible, obi belts that work from both sides, skirts that tie up differently for different effects, and even the kimona wraps can be worn casually or dressed up... It's kind of my thing, I'm starting to notice.
The bustle pad is also built in, so you don't need to worry about wearing another layer (and, thus, being charged for another layer - that gets me angry every time I see it...
This bustle is made from an absolutely beautiful copper colored taffeta, with swirls of vines embroidered all over it! I can't believe how beautiful it came out, considering I wasn't too much of a fan of the fabric when I picked it up ^^ I think it needs to be in something that drapes like this, to show how it's shot with black to really make everything stand out...
Okay! Enough rambling, I hope you like these bustles, and I'm sorry for flooding you with a few of them at once, but I don't want to keep forgetting to upload stuffs here XP

That is a very beautiful colour and the fact that it is copper is definitely hand in hand with steampunk (eg:copper as a construction metal and electric conductor).
The swirls are lovely texture on the fabric. The fact that it can be worn so many ways is very clever!
