Looks great... glad to see it got finished. How did the pedals work, and did you use the mystery pedals or the VW pedals?
BTW, my Turbo Cobra Mustang kit was a disappointment, with parts that flat-out didn't fit and crude details, I'm going to build the MPC kit at the antique shop the same way.

lol Im not sure, I think the VW ones. They worked out great, i just cut them apart, and filed the peddals into shape, i had to look at a pic to tget the shape and the angles just right.
Damn, Im sorry to hear that...I hope you have better luck with the MPC kit at the antique store

Cool... I hope I have better luck, too. And I will have a small-block Ford V8 for swapping into another model (I'm thinking the fender-flared Revell Datsun 510 there) as well when I'm done. I might just build the 510 kit instead of doing another Mustang.

Yeh the 510 would be cool, thats a revel kit right? I think Ive seen alot of those for sale at model conventions.
BTW, i forgot to mention but I fixed one of your axel tubes. I only had one that was the right lenght, so i took one of yours, and one of my shorter ones and just cut and spliced them together, and that actually worked out great!

I actaully have a 240Z Ive built years abot but Im redoing it making into a beast! I have the rear tubbed out, now im just trying to decide on what engine to use..I found out a 426 Hemi would fit with alil modifying! lol And my second choice is a Ford 5.0 if that dosent work

For a full-on street rod, I'd go with a Hemi. But for a sleeper, I'd use a small-block Ford or Chevy as used in the 70s and 80s.

There were actually a lot of V8 Z-cars in the 70s and 80s, and people building Ferrari 250GTO replicas based on Z-cars have successfully disguised SBCs as Ferrari engines.

Pretty cool... I'd do a cowl-induction hood over dual four-barrels if I was going to put a giant engine in a Z-car, it'd be less conspicuous.
(my truck has a huge engine, and I beat Camaros, Supras, RX7s and Mustangs at stoplights with it about 10 years ago, when I first got it, they didn't know what hit them)

Lol I believe it! And they sound badass with flowmasters! Even my friend's 1996 chevy 1500 with a V6 sounded like a beast with them!

I have Cherry Bombs on it now, after the original exhaust system rusted off in eastern Oregon several years ago. It is pretty loud, and people say they can hear me coming from half a mile away. I'm still looking at the '86 Lincoln, but found a VERY NICE 1977 Ford Mustang with the 2.3 liter engine, original hubcaps and good paint & interior that would probably be a better car and is able to be driven off the lot- for about $100 less, negotiable. Oddly, a trashed-out '74 Chevy Vega station wagon that would be a retrograde "improvement" from every car I've owned was parked next to it, and was almost $1000 more.

Plus v6's and 4-bangers in cars like that are kinda rare, because when most people get a car like that the first thing they'll do is yank out the engine and install a V8 crate motor. What some people dont know, is back in the early days of hotrodding, not many hotrods had V8s, alot of them were straight 6's and 4 cylinders. there's actually alot you can do with 4 cylinders and and V6s, its just that most people go the easy route and install a whole new, and bigger engine.

It's somewhat possible that if I like this Mustang well enough, I'll buy it and keep it somewhere else (I only have two parking spaces, one of which I like to leave for guests and utility contractors) until I can get the truck sold or it finally gives up the ghost.
X2 on 4- and 6-cylinders, and I've actually seen a few traditional rods with Buick, Hudson, Packard or Chrysler straight-eights. This Mustang, if I end up getting it, will be kept stock except for period mag wheels and a period sound system, in case Mustang IIs become valuable. (I'd keep the original wheels and hubcaps)
