Hands on; if she's interested in something, she'd rather have a try at it herself than simply watch and learn on the sidelines.

Optimistic; Olivia does her best to keep a positive outlook on life and tries to help others feel the same during troubling times.

Observant; she's good at noticing the little things, and is rather precise in her work as a result. If you need someone to proofread your essay, she's good at picking up errors.

Naïve; her simple optimism may come off as foolish, especially to anyone actually paying attention to the state of the world.

Stubborn; there's little stopping her from doing something once it's piqued her attention. As such she may for example experiment with a potion recipe even when others tell her it's a bad idea. Olivia's family was in Britain long before the Second Witch Trials unfolded. A family of mixed blood (both in magic and race), those tragic events shook their understanding of a world they once thought was overall safe and loving.

Of course, Olivia herself had very little recollection of those times, as she was a mere toddler then. The best she could remember was the feeling of unrest from her family and community which linger to this day. Though they still lived in peace, the feeling maintained that it could crumble away at any day, at least to the adults.

To protect her, she spent most of her younger days raised in the wizarding world, attending a small, private boarding school. That being said, she spent much of her summers within the muggle world living with her grandparents (both to take care of them and because her parents lacked the time to take care of her personally), some muggles, others who've long put down their wands and decided to learn to blend in with the rest of the world.

Despite spending most of her life in the magical community, her summers served well to remind her of the tension she would've otherwise felt was rather distant. However, it also exposed her to the way of life of the rest of the world. She found the technologies of the muggle world fascinating, for they were rarely seen within the magic community. It was said magic interfered with electricity, not to mention magic was simply easier, but despite it she quietly kept an interest in how to combine the two, and bridge one of the gaps between the two communities she knew.

When she was of age, she was sent to Hogwarts-- a sound decision to her family, as it remains the safest wizarding school around. Having always been relatively diligent in her studies, her first years passed with little conflict between the professors she had. Her friend group was not particularly large as she took more time reading or tinkering with things than socializing, though the ones she did have been rather close. Amongst students, she received some sneers and bullying for her interest in muggle technologies, though they slowly quieted down as the years went by if only because it slowly became less interesting to poke fun at. She met her pet, Pip, in her third year, when she finally decided to find a companion of her own.

To Olivia, her family is a working example that the two worlds could indeed come together and live in harmony. Even as conflicts worsen, she tries her best to maintain a positive outlook of the situation, and believes with some compassion and understanding, peace could someday be achieved. However, there was no denying she had to prepare for the worst, even if she was reluctant to agree. ✦
