Heh, sorry for all the random comments on older stuff. I've got a hella backed-up devwatch page (1,000+ deviations) and I feel inclined to look at them all before I delete them lol. :[
I think the tonal quality is great, and the contrast is handled without losing too much detail.
Are they tinged differently? The top image seems blueish while the bottom seems closer to grayscale, but I'm not sure if it's my eyes just seeing things

Yeah I had them toned differently. The top had a bit more cyans in the shadows. That and I kept the gold in his shirt, because it's gay and awesome at the same time. That would affect the general tone, I reckon.
I was just playing around, because I really like the contrast the light in that lift can create.

It is kind of creepy, and I'm surprised that you managed to get something good in that kind of light level (I remember it was quite dark). Facial expressions are well done.

I have so many ideas for when you come back.
I'm also carrying out my annual diet program. Every year around this time I lose approximately 10 pounds, manage to keep it off for half a year, and then slowly gain it back.
Losing it takes about a month. So by the time you come back I'll be skinny as a rail!

The composition on the bottom suits well for the shot because it looks like you are trying to run away from the paparazzi after a bad porn shoot...

Isn't it? I've been living here for years and never really appreciated the lighting in this place. My friend Leon came to my place and commented on the lighting, which gave me the idea for this piece. It's just so bright and sexy and perfect for b&w photography.

The second of yourself is interesting, as in you seemed to be resisting something or perhaps one one trying to do something to you...but as you were facing away, this shows some degrees of reluctance but also gives the feel of a less forceful resistance...

I'm reminded of those little strips off a photo booth. One of those that you sit in and it takes a bunch of pictures of you. Just that this one switched people before the spool got done.
Interesting mixture of poses--one very calm and static, the other very resistive and dynamic.

Love it. I dig the harsh whites and the blacker-than-black...uh, blacks. The grain is awesome, and the compositions work naturally. Quite an interesting take on an elevator.
