Description Part of my major project for my graphic design degree. Central London as it may look by 2011. Took about two weeks to get to this stage, so I didn't follow through with my original plan of modeling all the way up to Canary Wharf.

C4D as usual.

Addendum: Since posting this I've expanded the model quite a bit, as you can see here [link] and here [link]

What year did create this? It reminds me of the view of Oceania (a similar model of futurised London) in the 1956 sci-fi film "1984".

Not all of them have been built yet, but it should look like this in about ten years time.

Oh! 10 years??
That´s not an exageration???
well maybe builtders must affront the problem to build it in the center and docklands there´s not a lot of space and interrupt the city life is something people don´t want!
Ok
I belive they were almost finishing!!
Wiked they are making me more anxious for visiting London!

I'm just being cautious by saying 10 years. It should be much sooner.

Most of the new skyscrapers were supposed to have been built by now, but due to the economic troubles they were delayed and we don't know when all of them will start up again.

Definitely worth visiting London, though! Especially next year during the Olympics!

So the construction of the builtdings are practicaly freezed??

That's called the Pinnacle (or Bishopsgate Tower) and it's on hold at the moment, but they've built the foundations for it. [link] No one knows when construction will resume.

Ohh Righ!
The design of the sctructure really looks great!
Well the Buiiltding I say is under construction im Mexico´s citty is very simmilar to the bishopsgate! But the British version is wonderful wiked imagination builters have!
Because the mexican proyect are a lot of triangles and quares forming a tower!

Yes I notice it has stoped!
I hope they could continues the construction!
Yes but just the foundations the basic but it´s just the tiltle of the book there´s no legend!!

Right! It´s not to be a silly gossip but why people around the world say there´s violence or why I do not understand!
You as british well know about it! I hope I´m right?

I like what you said about it being the title of the book, but with no story. Hopefully it'll be back on schedule again soon. What is the building in Mexico City you're talking about? I love seeing what's being built in other parts of the world.

Yeah, there were some riots here, but everything's back to normal now. It started because a guy got shot by the police and then after that kids used it as an excuse to go wild. Hopefully something good will come of it all, though. It seems to have brought people closer together.

Hahaha thanks I love to mix my points of weiw whith that type of semi quotes.
I also use to create those things whith food XD))
It´s part of my "job" now I´m not working as designer of publicity "very jung to work in that but I earn some money.

I would be too exited knowing London is growing into the sky and not split on the Uk´S map as a enourmus spot.

Yes here is a great country for events and events of art too here are the most curious places of the world If you want me to say it!
Also he we had created lots of types of architecture and nobody around the world beleive the color Tv was a mexican´s invention.
My Valley and Mx. City is full of grafiti and it makes a great ambient in the human concrete jungle.

Yes I also believe it´s cool new things are also created on here in the past they wanted to create a come stadium for Monterrey city whith the shape of a flower of blue and white cristals and an auditorium whith the shape of a tornado but raising to the sky But I don´t think after the crash of the value´s stock marketing of Mexico that poyects had stopped but the Soumaya´s Museum and the Weird Lines builtding named Reforma Tower continue under construction.

Hahhaa here much of those happen all the time my country is wiked and beautiful but it´s a chaos nobody knows if tv´s news are making fun of all making money of that jokes or exagerating things until creating a Drug traficant country that Mexico isn´t that´s just in specific states but here there´s nothing of that!!

Snazz84 In reply to aaronpositivo [2011-09-03 00:09:33 +0000 UTC]

We hear a lot on our news about Mexico's drug gang problems, but it's always so fast that they never really explain it properly and they do kind of act as if the whole country is in chaos, which obviously isn't the case.

By the way, have you seen this building? [link] It's just someone's competition entry so nothing will happen, but it's a really cool idea.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aaronpositivo In reply to Snazz84 [2011-09-06 00:30:58 +0000 UTC]

Well I can only say it´s a war whithout specific battlefield and dates Hahaha.. just something that seems to be a chaos but it´s like freezing the time in a strom and then it continues again each day (the Narco as we call it!)
It´s too famous yes but it´s part of the mexican tzompantli wheel XD)))

Well what happens is that México finally tried to "progress" but no the people makes things too complicated I am mexican but in my opinion my people is ceirtainly out of their skulls.

People work more for drug traficants than for the goverment that´s why nobody trusts in government but our nation is too afraid of living another Tlatelolcos 68 episode or looking to military forces disappearing your town in the middle of the map "as always" and that´s why nobody fight against any of both bands. "both are mortal trafficants "narcos" make people work for them forcely in the most unaccecible parts of the country" and government makes poeople work and loose their trust in their money and international actions hehe!
That happens when united nations forces a narco nation to control all their "territory"
And of course narcos and goverment are too afraid of the OTAN and others that they have to fight "peacefuly" between them and eliminate all competence or people who divulgates the mumber of disapeared towns and indian cultures from the map. XD)))

We as urban mexicans never know what happens in the country or in the government usually people has not freedom to divulgate real information, and tv makes everyone know all people who dies every day it had come too dangerous but since the united nations "CONDITIONATE" Mexico to eliminate those problems or we couldn´t enter to comertial programs and move to OEA from BRIC.
Things had become very difficuilt because more food products etc.. producers become forcely marihuana producers and narcos fight for the control of their lands and that makes government loose and gain more "controled terrritories" Just as in chess but you can just imagine where are the enemy´s weapons etc..

However, there´s something good of this everyone can denounce a problem whith any of the OTAN, UN, OEA etc.. and they would pression more our government so we are practically or better said "legaly dimplomatic protected" XD)))

WOW yes!! If I have heard of them?? I dream to be civil engineer and built lot´s of those things my friend!

I am always looking for cool proyects all around our capital city it´s practically full of empty spaces and we are the perfect "ubication" to create the future hehehe !
If you hear future it must be México who´s named as place and not China or UAE.
XD))
Well there had been lots of proyects as that! and yes in the heart of our country in the ZOCALO.
In the past people wanted a tower another palace. a great park, a gigant sculpture of the mexical eagle, a great metro station, a museum, and yes now this proyect but lot´s of those underground problems are practically impossible in my opinion our capital city is almost "floating" and if the metropolitanean chatedral and the national palace are almost sinking I guess that the idea of digging more underground would make thigs more "unestable" than they are almost no one wants to be underground there are certain metro stations that practically change of place few cemtimeters but they move!!
It would be great but it´s too problematic too!
Also I have heard of the idea to making a huge complex underground, Metro stations, museums and parks mixed whith a great cristal dome on it!
Yes here in my valley there´s something as that but in a Metro sub-urban train they wanted to connect all the city whith a new model of trains that would be just a few lines but that cover most of the city and valley of Puebla and a new central for tains, airplaines etc.. because the old station is almost falling down! XD)))

Interesting to hear your perspective on the drug trafficking issue. And you taught me a new word! I hadn't heard of a tzompantli before!

Yes, I thought that building would be almost impossible to build, which is a shame because it's a really interesting concept. It seems like it would be a very dangerous design if there was a fire, though. People at the bottom would be impossible to reach. It's probably a good thing the ground is too unstable to build it.

aaronpositivo In reply to Snazz84 [2011-09-12 01:08:23 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha don´t you ever say something is true everything is relative you can´t talk about a place or something whithout knowing it!

It´s the same world but it´s alive and it has everything you could imagine!

Tzompantli?? jhojo! that means in nahuatl "the real mexican language" Skulls wall XD))))

Yup it must be really impossible but When I saw the interior of the proyect in the Zocalo I belive it was another country really as mexican I reject that proyect I would prefer to make something not to deep and more mexican the zocalo is the heart of our country practicaly and thet proyect would be a shame!
Ti looks wiked really impresive but NO too horrible architecture for beeing there. it sounds beautiful in somewhere else but as Zocalo it sounds as rubbish and sole something sacred for us HEHEHE and really mexicans are really crazy and badmouth of all!
We are not the paradise but our small chaoric garden is only ours never mind everything the love, the faith and our dreams keep us alive.

I love digital models like these.

The Shard as to be my favorite.

It's a shame most of these buildings aren't going up as fast as many of us would like, unfortunately, politics, financial issues and anti-skyscraper complaints have delayed most of them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Snazz84 In reply to G1NZOU [2011-05-07 13:27:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, back when they were originally proposed it looked like they'd all be completed by the Olympics (and I obviously believed that judging by the optimistic date of "2011"), but everything's slowed down now.

Still, The Shard is my favourite too, so I'm glad that out of them all, that's the one that made it (well, the Heron was built as well, but I'm not a fan of that... ).

Hopefully, in time, they'll all be built.

That's looking really good. Do you plan to do a fly through of it with finished textures?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Snazz84 In reply to JHawley218 [2010-06-22 21:19:42 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for your interest. I do have some fly-through videos, which I'm going to upload here sooner or later, but I'm not sure if I'll ever fully texture it. For renders it had a plain wood texture, emulating the physical models architects use when planning their buildings.

Did you model this piece by piece?
However you created it, it´s a masterpiece.

Sorry again for my rude reply the last time...

Snazz84 In reply to sicklizard [2010-02-27 10:55:00 +0000 UTC]

Wow... first time anything I've done has been called a "masterpiece". Yeah, I did make it piece by piece, though the majority of the buildings have a very simple structure. Only the landmarks are properly detailed.

Thanks for faving and really, don't worry about that comment the other day, I didn't take it personally.

NinjASD [2010-02-24 16:37:55 +0000 UTC]

did you use greeble or something? or a simple extrude? it seems that the big work is made on varying the meshes for the buildings . Great job man ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Snazz84 In reply to NinjASD [2010-02-25 01:21:48 +0000 UTC]

No greeble or other plugins, but yeah, the majority of the buildings are simple extruded splines. Only the important landmarks were modeled with extra detail, or it would've taken too long.
