Thanks. That was one of my first models and renders, so it's hardly perfect, but it was a pretty good start.

Very nice. A bit overexposed on the floor but i love the light coming from behind the rack on the ceiling. How did you do that, area lights?

Yeah, some area lights and also a material above the racks that has a glow on it, so some "light" bleeds through.

It makes a nice effect up there, but all the lights combined are what make the floor look so overexposed. I'm itching to fix it up once uni's over.

I think you could add the floor to some of the lights' Exclude tab

Yep, that's what I'm thinking of doing, or maybe lowering the GI for those lights. I did this render quite a while ago, so I've learnt a few things in the meantime.

Well, I'd say it's easy, but it's not really. Especially for this one where I did loads and loads of research(probably more than I do for our projects.. eek!) so I could make it look like it does in real life. But I did spend most of summer learning how to use the program. I think all you really need is a project to work on that you can get motivated about and that stops you giving up when everything seems too complicated and frustrating.

P.S. I think you were asking a rhetorical question, but I answered anyway.. lol

I love it Mate, i also use C4D ( only version 7.3 ) but itΒ΄s still a good program. I also did some Galactica Renderings...Keep up the good work

I've only been using C4D for a couple of months(this is my first proper model using it), but I really like it. I find it a lot more intuitive than some of the other programs. I'll check out your page.

Well, i use Cinema 4D since 1999 and i did some upgrades meanwhile. But That Program is not a cheap one, so i stop the Upgrading Orgy at Cinema 4D Release 7.3
But it works good and offers many features, most of them i didnΒ΄t used till yet. YouΒ΄re right with the intuitive workflow of this Program. I checked out other ones in Trial Versions: Maya, 3D Studio Max, Bryce...But i donΒ΄t really like them. Cinema 4D is still the best for me...
Your works look really fine, you are a good 3D Artist Mate

Mmm, even the student version is a bit pricey, but amazingly cheap compared to all those other programs. And probably just as suitable for non-professionals, without having such daunting looking interfaces.
