Chaos Serpent from Hexen.Doen in MyPaint.
I'm not really a fan of Hexen but I really like some of the creature designs. The Chaos Serpents creep me the heck out... so I drew one.

I'd never realised before but they look very similar to Violator from Spawn. Only green. I bought the full game of Hexen but never got further than where the demo stopped because I had no idea what to do, sad or what? Those were the days before Gamefaqs lol. If it still worked on newer machines might be tempted to dip back in.

No it's not sad, I got stuck I think at the part in the first level where you had to ring the bell? I don't think I ever completed the first level though. Went on Magic Carpet instead

I am laughably back on my PS2 after having just spent lord knows what on an XBox360. Been playing Primal, a game I loved, and still love, but again, never managed to complete.
Hexen was good but not quite as good as Heretic, too cerebral and not as clever with the design, but Hexen 2 was INSANELY cool, combining Quake with an almost point and click adventure level of exploration...but like Quake, it used Dos4GW and therefore is nigh on impossible to make work on any new PCs *sob*.
I used to love Magic Carpet too! Did you ever play their futuristic racer Hi Octane too? That was AMAZING!

Never played Heretic, all I knew was I didn't really like Hexen. Was Hexen 2 only on PC?
Never knew Bullfrog made any other games! (I guess they should have done in order to be a functioning games company lol). Even if the levels were really sameish you could spend an hour at a time on each one. And there were like 50 levels!

Thanks! Ah, Hexen is a sort of obscure first person horror game for the Sega Saturn. One fun thing it had was, you could pick up a weapon called the Porkalator which turned scary-ass enemies into pigs!
