You're into historical stuff yes? Have you read The Other Boleyn Girl? I'm just over halfway through it and I'm addicted. And I'm not really into historical stuff!

I haven't read that yet! I really want to, though. My friend read a lot of that woman's books and loves her.

Just finished it a couple of days ago and it's still haunting me. I'll warn you, it's a long book and probably will take up a lot of productivity time

Okay, so I found you while reading up in the drama on DF's page, and I got all excited when I saw your Elvis icon. I was all, "Eeee, someone also loves Elvis!" Then I clicked on your profile and saw your name was Megan and that you were born in the wrong decade.
...For a moment I thought I stumbled upon myself.

LOL! I've been known to have good taste, especially when it comes to old, vintage things.
As for the drama on DF's page...wowza.

Man, vintage things are the best. I especially like it when books or records have that aged smell to them. Not too strong, but enough to know they haven't been used in a while.
Oh drama. I don't advocate it, since a lot of it can be very detrimental, but dang it all I love some good DF drama. It can be very entertaining and enlightening. I also appreciate DF drama because it is very tame and the people that get involved are usually patient and nice.

Not to mention they say it a lot more kindly than I would. Haha. My tongue tends to get me in trouble, especially at family gatherings where most of my relatives are Republican and think Rush Limbaugh is the second coming of Christ. LOL!

LOL! I just can't stand it when people bash gays, women, and minorities.

I hate it when religion bashing is going on. I'm a pretty big Christian, and I've defended Muslims, Wiccans, Buddhists- all sorts. I don't jump on the sexuality train much unless someone starts mentioning the "abnormality of choosing to stay a virgin". Well, pretty much any time someone makes me feel like how I was born is wrong or odd, I usually get upset.

I'm pretty much an Agnostic. I don't believe the bashing of any religion, race, or sexual preferences is okay. As for virginity, there's nothing wrong with waiting for the right person. One of my brother's friends waited until she met the right guy and she was 29. And if people give you a hard time for that, then they really need to get a life. Find a hobby. Something productive.

Yeah, I know. I don't usually take offense because most people (college students, if you will) are generally just surprised to find someone who can have a boyfriend yet choose to stay a virgin. It just raises eyebrows. It's when I get those people who give me that look or roll their eyes that I get offended. In reality, I've only been offended twice by that; but it leaves a strong impression.
It's not only the virginity thing, too. I've had occasions where I've been pitied because my family and I are homebodies. This person looked as if he thought, "Wow. I'm so sorry for you. Your life must be so boring." I've even been ridiculed because I didn't understand conversions of units. It's not fun working on something you find hard, and are getting help for, when across the table you hear a girl say "quietly" under her breath, "It shouldn't be that hard."
Oooh, that's the one I really can't stand. That's the one I will absolutely get after someone about. If someone doesn't understand something, or is having trouble comprehending, you have no right to sit there and make fun of them about it. If they are truly trying to understand and are asking real questions to help themselves, you are seriously going to sit there and make fun of them for trying to learn and grow? Okay, fine, next time you're having trouble, I'll just giggle to myself- and just loud enough for you to hear- how stupid you are.

Argh. Some people really do suck. Usually when people say negative and/or jackass things, I just ask them, "Why do you talk?" :/
I worked three and a half years in a beauty salon and there were two girls there who enjoyed making their other coworkers lives hell. If they weren't accusing this one man of having a bad attitude and trying to get him fired (he was a better worker than they were), they were going after me for "having a negative attitude" right after my dad died. The day I handed in my two weeks notice, I treated myself to a big freaking cupcake and a glass of wine. >< Three years later, one of the girls is actually pleasant to be around, but I think that's because the other girl (who was the ringleader) isn't around.

Oh, totally. I just bought some vintage dresses off Etsy and they definitely have a particular smell to them that I like. And, yes, old book aroma is an interesting bouquet.
As for DF drama...I try to stay out of it as much as possible since some of the others are pretty much saying what I would say, but more eloquently. There are a lot of intelligent people on her page, which is the main reason I visit. And I must say that reading their critiques on DF's work has also helped my art. Posemaniacs, for instance, is a site I never would have known existed if it hadn't been recommended it on one of DF's drawings. Great, great site.

Anatomy is a big one! I've also learned more about color since visiting her page and how to work with it so that the art is more pleasing to the eye than headache-inducing. I love the critiques she gets!

What's scary/odd is that she probably looks in the mirror every morning and says, "I look pretty darn good. If only I could be just a little bit tanner". I mean, I feel sorry for her, because she's definitely got issues, but on the other hand...
