Description Got a surprise in the mail today! used his amazing skills to refine this portrait! It looks 100% Better. So I guess I can call this a collaboration ^^

The changes are quite subtle and it may not be immediately apparent, but even at one glance the image is noticeably sharper and more complete looking!

Edit: thanks to mochi-snack [link] on Manga Bullet, I now know this person is Shirokumapan. her website is here [link] she's such an amazing cosplayer

This version does look smoother and more polished, but the original looked lovely too. I love her expression and the way her hair flows. You're very talented.

sa55y In reply to Rebelisch [2009-12-27 03:16:30 +0000 UTC]

hmm I'm not sure. I didn't keep a palette. I just picked the colours as I went. They are all different tones of brown though xD

I'm so happy you like it! to be honest I was pretty unhappy with my use fo colour here...it was so random xD I wish I had a me unified and well thought out palette...choosing colours is hard tho T_T

hehe you have a point! But I think having a million colours only makes it more confusing!!

yeah... that for sure. But its frustrating that you cant get the color you want Pencils are very hard to mix.

I think it's equally frustrating to get the colours you want no matter what medium you use the problem for me is in colour perception...

Yeah i understand. Wouldnt it be better when the computer calculates your colors whahaha

Hi nice expression in eyes, btw can u help me with creating hair in corel essentials 3.

thanks~ hmm 'creating' hair >_< there's probably no going around drawing every strand if you want to make it look realistic. I usually start with under painting a darker colour first, then draw every strand of hair in the mid tone, then again with a highlight.

LOL I just love what you did already...all I did was use some fine brushes and added some detail. I wanted to retain the original integrity of your artwork without ruining it

Thanks for posting this sa55y >.o

I have a problem tho :/ this is a crop of a larger canvas I'm painting. I have the rest of her and I was going to add flowers around...will you refine it for me again when I'm done? >_<

btw...I'm having a lot of trouble painting the hand...the original photo didn't have very distinguishable lights and shadows @_@ what should I do?

Absolutely...why don't you email me the original file? I'll be happy to ^___^

I'll definitely help out with the hand...although I'm not the best at drawing hands either xD I'll use your reference photo from your original post.

^___^
