you know, this wallpaper and current setup is the result of many months having always the same desktop, while only changing just some small detail every now and then.
it started with a dock from someone else and my attempt to create a similar and yet completely different dock that has just the same angle and drop shadow. that was months ago. i also wanted a decent tabs-like back for the icons on the left. although i started with just some square shaped holes first, i later had the idea of something more glassy. the stitched lines at the bottom and on the left came a few weeks later (as did the badge at the top right). well, you already saw my previous screenshot. i always thought i'd use a blue-ish wallpaper forever, until i found that lady and then red seemed like the only color to use.
to be honest, i'm really amazed by the result. so much so, that i just had to show it to someone. and what is nearer than showing it to the community then, right?
well, i'm glad you like this setup as much as i do. thanks for the appreciation, bro.

WOW! and I thought you couldn't customize MAC, that's the only reason I don't have a MAC!

I wonder why they don't make it easier to customize anyway? Do they not believe in customization? lol... it doesn't make sense.

Well that's what I mean about customizing the desktop, I want to change that grey taskbar thing, but I just can't do it. I used a Mac once, one of my ex's had one. I can't afford a Mac, but when I was able to, I wasn't sure about getting one, and eventually settled on a PC. My cousin tries to act like he knows about Mac, but he's never used one, and will put me down on facebook about even considering getting a Mac... but personally from what I've learned from others, and from reading on the net... Mac is more secure for ME... because I'm prone to visit websites sometimes by accident that give me viruses or adware... mostly adware/spyware... and I'm about tired of it... I just wish Mac was cheaper or that I could make more money... lol - But I don't know why Apple doesn't release a program that comes with Mac OS that will make it easier for you to design things, without compromising what they have for protection.

yeah, i know what you mean when you say that the mac is all expensive and stuff. honestly, i wouldn't be a mac user, if there hasn't been this great opportunity of purchasing my current iMac for 800β¬ euros off the original price. it was too much of a bargain to not buy it. and frankly, i never regretted doing it. yes, it still wasn't really cheap, but what you'd get for your money is by all means worth it, imo. just imagine that with an iMac you also get an excellent led monitor. buy a monitor of that quality and a computer with the specs of an iMac and you'll likely spend the same amount of money.
but what's funny is that one of the first things i installed on that mac, was in fact a win7 partition. the fact that it's even possible to have both mac osx and win7 running at the same time, is disrupting yet another reason for not buying a mac, i think.
and personally i would never have bought my iMac, if it weren't capable of also running windows. well, what can i say? apple is creating some very fine computers and today i'd always buy one again.

The computer I have now, I'm thinking about selling and getting an iMac with the money. The first time I used an iMac at the Apple Store inside the mall was amazing... I fell in love with it. It's my dream to have one, and I hear it's better for designers anyway, and that's what I am... but mostly logo design. If I had an iMac, I probably would have a better experience with Online Collage too, I'm thinking about doing it to learn more in my field, so I can do better... since I can't code anything for the life of me, I want to be able to so I can finally have a fully working website that I manage and create myself. But for now I'm stuck with paying someone else to code for me. I love design so much that I spent an entire year doing graphics for bands on MySpace (back when it was popular), for absolutely no pay at all, completely free... just because I loved their music and I love design. But I need money now, so I have to charge for what I do, to some extent. But I do not need to be rich.

"... The first time I used an iMac at the Apple Store inside the mall was amazing... I fell in love with it ..."
i know, right?
it happened to me just the same.
i was rushing through the store and an iMac literally crossed my path making me turn around to give it a closer look immediately. for minutes i was staring at the icons and the beautiful quality of the display. unfortunately there wasn't any mouse to utilize the damn thing and make it perform something for me, but the experience has still been an amazing one.
little did i know that only a few months later i was supposed to become a mac user myself.
"... since I can't code anything for the life of me, I want to be able to so I can finally have a fully working website that I manage and create myself ..."
yep... same here.
learning some webpage coding is among the top items on my ToDo list.
or a better understanding of code in general (i.e. xml or java) so i could create more skins for more apps.
the mac, can be a fun place to either learn or perform the coding, i'd say.
"... But I need money now, so I have to charge for what I do, to some extent ..."
and that's nothing to be ashamed of or to feel insecure about.
you have something to offer and people can have it for a reasonable price.
charging for a job done is only natural and nothing really requiring further elaboration, imo.
besides, it makes others take you serious and professional.
in a way, it also makes everybody involved in the deal feel more (how shall i say?) comfortable. i mean, people who get something for free can quickly develop a feeling of "i owe you" and they might not always know how to pay you back or how to say that they have different expectations, because afterall you rarely really complain about things you got for free. at least that's what common courtesy usually demands.
i think, a contract with a proper price for your sevices could make a lot of things easier for both you and your customers.

Wow, how did you quote me in a style like that? That's so awesome, I couldn't figure out how to do that, without typing it myself, and then it still doesn't show up the same exactly way...

oh my bad, I thought you was speaking about a netbook (same name used here )
These displays are really cute, but well, doesnt fit my needs.
Of course, I could go to an apple store, but well, Im affraid
I wont find what Im searching for Im almost sure everyone
workspace says something about it's owner, so I was a bit curious
about yours. I imagine yours : modern, maybe a bit luxurious (not in bad
sense, dont misundertood me), not too busy with useful objects, and
tidy & clean. It seems Im wrong a bit about last point But well, maybe
we dont call a mess the same thing

hahaha.. well said, my friend.
for me, showing my workspace in public is like inviting guests to my home, so i'd better arrange everything nicely. you're right, it isn't really a mess. it's just the same feel of discomfort when someone wants to take a picture of you, when you know that the last time you looked into a mirror was 14 hours ago. for things like this i want to be prepared, you know. or else it'd feel like everything's a mess.
so, for taking a picture of my desktop it'll require some right time of the day (for maybe the sunlight throwing a nice light) and of course a camera, which i don't really have but which hopefully arrives with my new iPhone soon.
in other words, it won't be long until the occasion is right to take that picture. i'm on it and i plan on shooting a lot of photos with that new iPhone camera anyway. so why not shoot my workspace as well then, right?
well, stay tuned.
