The anguish on his face is beautifully done and the composition adds to that depth of emotion.

It was a difficult piece, changed my mind a number of times. So glad you like it!

You're right. I actually prefer this, if you could crop it again but include all of the dragon?
It's hard to explain. In my minds eye he's just standing there calmly waiting (we both know why), his hands by his side. It's almost as if he's meditating and his attention is entirely turned inwards, the rest of the world no longer exists. There is a simplicity here that is slightly jarred in the full sized picture, I think it's the raised hand you have there, it just isn't needed. The tight crop adds a tension too, a sense of expectation. (Step mum is an art critic and art historian, stuff that rubs off, as much as I dislike it.)

Not only waiting but looking forward to the end. It was difficult to express both joy and sorrow. Maybe relief would be a better word. A good crop is always tightening up the image, even if I have to admit this was accidental...

Love the emotion implied in both the composition and style!

Thank you so much! I'm glad it managed to transfer. Am still struggling with the entire piece, may have to take a break from it, I think I seriously overdid the 'blood effect' yesterday...
