I did once, to get the alternative ending. It just felt wrong all the time.

Glad to have you back dear! I've yet to do Roche's path. I love the game, there will definitely be more Witcher stuff. I do love Iorveth but I do NOT trust him...

That tattoo and the colours are beautiful. The soft tones gives it a bit of an 'old masters' feel. I love the expression on his face, grim and determined. Of course I have no idea of who he is except that he's from the Witcher 2. I suspect he's not a happy man, or elf. It looks like a romantic image of a hero of the French Revolution. I know the image will look different on different monitors and I've checked it on a couple but maybe, just maybe, making it a little bit darker, lifting the highlights, will add to the mood.

You're right it's less contrast then I usually have, but I made this in just one evening so give me some slack eh. At the same time I'm quite fond of the 'ancient al-fresco' feeling, maybe some day. I love that you spotted the French revolution, I had the very same thought, and Iorveth here would not hesitate for a second to bring out the guillotine...

Looking at his expression I can well believe it.

Iorvth has a classic line concerning humans: βThey wish to watch me die and I wish to watch them die. Itβs the way of things in this world.β

I felt sooo bad when Roche helped me find Henest despite my obvioius deflection. And despite all his intentions Iorveth's struggles may be counter-productive to what he professes is his goal. I wonder if you get to fight him if you side with Roche? I really would hate to have to kill him.

Luckily, you don't. But the confrontation is less than friendly, that is for sure.

Oh. my. god. Wonderful! I fluctuate between loving several men in W2 and just looking at this puts me back in Iorveth's camp. This is lovely. The tattoo is gorgeous, and his eyes! Well, eye. And ear! His expression is perfect also. Much love for this.

I think Geralt is my favorite too, but by my third (ack) play through, Iorveth really grew on me. Aside from being just so smoldering, I felt more attuned to his plight.

Oh, Iorveth, I love your crown of bitter thorns. I took his side as well, I couldn't resist that haunted look and heroic determination.
This is just deeply moving to me, you captured both the haunted and heroic look of him.

I agree with the tough decision to leave Roche when I first played. Took Iorveth's path because of his struggle. But, when my mind shifts gears and looks at Roche's plight, I also enjoyed Roche's badassery big time. He's pretty compelling in his own way and his path was satisfying too, for me.

I finished the game with Iorveth's path but I think he died, at least that's what the wiki said. :C Gah, I had wanted to import that game to W3.

I played twice, taking each path, and it was equally rewarding either way but I'll need to do that again because I lost my saves when my 'puter decided to die a glorious death.
I liked Roche in a completely different way than Iorveth. He was tough and gritty and honest in what he wanted. He made no apologies for who he was and what he had to do. Yep, great game and great characters in it.

Agreed about Roche, Shakes. I think the game really gives you so many ways to view these guys, mingling both the good and the bad in such a way that it becomes difficult to see any of them being purely selfish and evil, or being purely angelic and selfless, for lack of better words. They have their reasons for their actions, and I found it hard to argue with most of them.
Oh, and olive, you can save Iorveth in the end, depending on your choices. Maybe go back to a save near the end?

I know how you feel. I lost ALL my Dragon age savegames in a similar situation :....(
I love it when Geralt says 'I'm to old for this' while fighting monsters. The game has it's bad features (like constantly having doors slammed in your face!!!), but I love the gritty Central-European feel to it. I accidentally made a decision that killed Iorveth so I guess I have to backtrack a bit too if I want to have even a chance to keep him in W3.
If you haven't read the books yet you're in for a treat.
