Ahhh, I suspected there was super-strength involved, but now i just wonder how/why she has that as a power... does she have to be carefull with that strength in the bedroom?

Cute concept, and I get she has strength but no matter how strong she is the bored needs to have equal weight on both sides of her hand in order to balance. And, it just doesn't look that the board could balance at all with the other woman's legs and most of her body on one side of the hand. It looks like it like it should be tipping onto her head.
A real fix would be to position the woman on top of the bored so that her weight looks evenly distributed on either side of the center of the bored. A quick fix would be to raise the other woman's other arm up, so it's not all balanced on one hand. Because it's not balanced.
Muscle knowledge seems good but the abs and stuff look TOO defined. And the waists look too... pointed where they go in. Something softer will look better.
Hope that helps.

Yeah the one handed thing kind of throws off the balance, but with Zen's legs hanging off the weight on that side of the board is diminished. I thought about making it so you couldn't see Del's wrist - like more of her hand was under the board but it just looked like she had no hand at all.
I actually did soften the shading on the abs from what it was, it's still too cut, huh?

Yeah, it's still just a little over done and, well, looks more like she's segmented than has washboard abs. And for what you're doing a nice, smooth, flat, well toned tummy might look better than a ripped cut The Situation from The Jersey Shore 6 pack anyway.
As for the balance, it's obvious the weight of her bottom and her entire thighs are resting on the bored. They're only hanging off from below the knee. The only thing on the other side to throw off the weight is her hand. And yes, she's probably leaning some weight on that had but it's still doesn't look like for one second she'd balance that way.
Now, if she were doing a pinup lose laying back with her weight spread out evenly it might work, but there's just no physics going on here.

Usually women with that seriously cut six pack freak me out which is why I softened it but apparently not enough.
The funny thing about physics is that it kind of goes out the window when the character has super strength. She can lift a car with one finger I'm sure she can keep a 150lb girl balanced on a 2lb board by spreading her fingers slightly.

No, sorry but she comes off as having wash bored super-cut creepy bodybuilder abs. Sorry, just does to me.
It doesn't matter if she can LIFT it. How does her being strong enough to lift it effect gravity and the fact that something has to have weight evenly distributed on either side of a fulcrum to stay balance and not fall?

She could hold one end between her forefinger and thumb and lift it even. Simply spreading her fingers underneath it keeps it from tipping. In fact she's not holding it like a waiter holds a tray, she's got her thumb on the side and her palm and fingers are flat underneath.

Actually, sorry but it doesn't because the weight isn't distributed on the bored. It doesn't matter how far apart she spreads her fingers. She can't "hold" something weighted to one side from tipping on a fulcrum, because that has nothing to do with strength.

...*sigh* Okay, I get it. You don't think it looks balanced - I think it looks fine. There's not a whole lot I can do to change the picture now. If I move either one of them it'll throw the whole composition off and the whole picture will look unbalanced instead of that one minuscule thing. I'm not going to fix this no matter how much you explain physics, ok?

VictorianPaperAngel In reply to Musashden [2010-08-01 05:20:10 +0000 UTC]
I'm not trying to force you to change anything. But the fact that your original explanation had to do with her legs hanging off and then you changed it to her... somehow spreading her fingers and that making it so the board won't flip with 70+% of the weight on one side of the fulcrum (sure, makes sense) says this has more to do with your pride than anything else.
Honestly? It's not minute. It SCREAMS "this board should be flipping to one side" and makes the overall impression frankly amateurish. I've seen this concept done before and what usually works is having the person on the board laying on their side, so their weight is distributed. It looks better and might work better here than what you have.

*Shrug* It just doesn't matter how "strong" the fulcrum is. If more than half the weight is on one side of it, the lever tips. Period. I didn't make that up. And to me, it stands out. That's all.

I actually like the background. The style with no outlining lets there be detail without it getting too busy. I think you did a fine job with Zen's posture, it looks pretty natural. The only critique i have is the position of Del's hand on the board. It seem to far to the left. Horizonatly i would place Zen's center of gravity somewhere between her bellybutton and the right side of her bikini, based on her leg position and leaning. Its a minor detail really but it gives the slight impression that the board should be tipping. All in all I love it. I'm looking forward to more IT stuff.
