Normally, I only make one of each craft item to keep or give away, before moving on to the next craft. It keeps my patterns original and it keeps me from getting bored. Except this time. Today is my Dad's birthday and of all of the crafts I've done this year, he absolutely loved my Mini Ninja. So much so that he made me print pictures of it for him to show his coworkers. For his birthday, Dad is getting his own ninja. At 6" tall, this guy is twice the size of Mini Ninja. The characters in the background are the kanji for Courage and the sword he's holding is a letter opener I brought back from Japan many years ago.Original design: no pattern available

Dad really loved the Mini Ninja I made for my friend, so when his birthday rolled around, it was easy to decide what to make for him. I ordered a different sword for Dad's ninja, since this letter opener has great sentimental value to me. Thanks so much!

No, you're not seeing things. That is actually a letter opener I brought back from Japan with me many years ago. I ordered a different sword for this doll, but it hasn't arrived yet, so Dad gets to hang on to mine for now. He was so excited! Thanks!

I haven't decided if I'll put up a new picture or just leave this one. We'll see how the ninja looks with his new sword. He might actually look better with this one, since the newer ones are made of plastic and aren't as authentic looking.

If I decide not to post a new picture, I'll email you a shot of the sword anyway. That way you'll still be able to see what it looks like! I got confirmation yesterday from the company I ordered the sword from, so it's finally available and I believe they shipped it yesterday. It should be here soon.

I am crazy about my crochet sometimes. There are days when I will sit for 8 hours or more working on crochet. It is amazing that my eyes are not very bad. I am very lucky.
