# About me
Started on this site four or perhaps five years ago, posting drawing I was proud of then moving to some photos and now post all my knits!I started knitting when I was forced to take a fashions class when I was in grade 10. I was totally against it saying it was done but as soon as I got the hang of it I loved it and immediately wanted to learn more so I could create my own designs. Fast forward five years and here I am!
Mostly inspired by ordinary objects or Doctor Who or youtube.
My goal is to create a unique item that has never been seen before! Also to change the face of knitting, it's not all afghans and baby clothing, you can make some pretty epic things.

My mother knits and I would love to give her the pattern of the film strip scarf fo her to work on. She heads a knitters club in Ladysmith BC.

Sorry, I do not share my patterns. But if she wants to design her own version of the pattern I'm fine with that as long as I get credit if posted online. Although both film scarves are for sale in my Etsy shop here [link]

Oh I posted on your profile that I do have an Etsy shop called MyAlterknits here [link] . I'm kind of iffy on commissions because well I'll be frank, the idea scares me to take someone else's idea and make it on a strict timeline. It would also depend on your idea for a commission, sometimes I'm not motivated by some ideas as I am by others.
But most of my most recent posts on deviantart are for sale at my shop and if you have any questions feel free to note me on here or on etsy. I think most things from my Sons of Admirals hat to my Cyberman hat (minus the plushies, sorry you can't have my Eddplant haha!) are for sale at my shop and my Doctor Who hat too! Plus as an awesome addition also all of my knits are reversible!
God that felt like a shameless self plug, please forgive me HAHA!

All right, I'm sure you've been asked this before, but I need to know if your knitting patterns are on sale! (If you have patterns written out). I came across your Dethklok hat and I would be willing to pay for the pattern, I know my friend would love it.

Usually I'm quite torn to leave with my patterns so not many people ask haha! But this could be one I could.
Trouble is I didn't write down the physical pattern for the hat but I still have the pattern for the logo. Would you be double knitting it the way I did or would you be just knitting it in a stockinette stitch with intarsia? I ask because those are two completely different patterns.
I wish I still had the toque so I could dissect it and then I could actually give you a decent pattern but I gave it away in November. Saddest thing is that its never worn because the recipient said it was "too warm". Always saddens me because I am so proud of it and I'm Canadian theres no such thing as too warm.

Miss-Hollie In reply to harelquin-demon [2011-03-19 18:39:13 +0000 UTC]
Oh, I know what you mean! I'm Canadian too (living abroad in Germany this year, however), so too warm just isn't a word that makes sense to me
Thank you so much for offering the logo pattern to me! I'd like to try the double knitting the way you made the hat, I've never done it before and I think it would be fun. And that's okay, the fact that you're helping me out at all is very kind of you. I know you said you used sock yarn and size 4 needles, so I should be able to put the rest together. Though I have to ask, do you remember the brand/name of the grey and white yarn you used? It's a beautiful mix!

Trouble is I have no computer skills whatsoever so I have no idea how to make a PDF file or anything. It would be easiest for me if I could mail it to you. I'll probably do both the reversible pattern and the other one so you have a reference incase it doesnt work out. It's a large pattern like 90 by 26 it took three sheets of graph paper to design. I'll see if I have any computer savie friends that can help me with that.
I used Patons Kroy sock yarn, in black and slate jacquard. I believe it was just one ball of each yarn. I can't completely recall because november was so long ago. I think I found calculations of the hat so all might not be lost. I had to try like three times until I found the proper casting on stitches because it was so large.

awww thank you
happy belated birthday geneve! OH im three days late sorry! but my internet is being stupid we havent had internet since june 26, then we found a wireless connection a week later but it only lasted a few days.
how are you and gaston? gin and max are doing good, max enjoys petting gin and is fasinated by him. but gin stays in the basement so max doesnt get to see him that often which gives more spazz when gin comes out.
my mom and wilf got the house the wanted after a lot of fuss. its in falkland and theres a mountain and a stream on one side and a federal reserve on the other. its all isolated and quiet, even though i have never been there. we are getting a large puppy when we get him, we keep calling him max's big brother.
and max got neutered the other day and wasnt fazzed at all.
maxs new favourite toy is a plastic newspaper thats called the daily dog or something like that and squeaks like theres no tomorrow. its really loud too so its now an "outside toy"

Awe! Haha that's so cute! And don't worry about being late for my birthday. Some people didn't even remember. People who should have. Oh well.
So you haven't seen the house? Do you think you'll like it there? It sounds nice!
My kitty is very good but needs to go take a shot on friday. Poor baby. Haha

ive seen online pictures and took a virtual tour but havent actually been inside it. its kinda small but its beautiful, the guest bedroom is small but there is a bunkhouse outside (thats heated) thats larger so im gonna live there! plus wilf wants his office inside and i thought id help.
ouchie! i was expecting max to be hurtin after his operation but he was playing fetch and running about the moment we got home and hasnt stopped since! must be the flushing of the testosterone

Hahaha! Well that's good. I was scared that my kitty would hate me for life after I got him fixed but that's reassuring.
And that sounds like an awesome bedroom! Sweeeeet! You'll have to send me some pictures!
