Description Finally back with another Hunter x Hunter (of Togashi Yoshihiro's genius) art featuring the slacker Leorio Paladiknight. ♥

I was supposed to upload this on Valentine's Day since I figured Leorio's in need of love and attention (mainly) from me since I hardly ever draw him (I only did one artwork of him as opposed to the number the other main characters have). Unfortunately, I got sidetracked because I was quite busy preparing the special day for my beloved Micchan, and when we got home, I was already spent and developed a terrible headache all of a sudden (attributed to the extreme stress and fatigue with all the preparations). And the following days consisted of me being pretty much occupied with practicing piano REAL hard (I was trying to catch up since a week went without any lessons and our instructor always notes that I'm not practicing when I actually AM). Anyway, better late than never, right? I missed deviantART so much that I'm feeling like a newcomer again. ^^

Back to the work, ever since I started using colored pencils, I developed a taste for drawing backgrounds (especially nature and such). I was scouting for a Leorio photo (that is easy to draw, of course) when I stumbled upon this scene in the 1999 Hunter x Hunter's opening theme Ohayou. I was ecstatic and thus, this piece was made. ^^

I had an easy time drawing Leorio even though I thought his pose might be quite a challenge, but I was surprised that I didn't have a hard time with him at all. As for the trunk, it was a bit difficult (but only a BIT since I had a tougher time with Illumi Zoldyck here [link] , believe it or not). When I got through the sketch, I did the line art. After getting through that particular phase of drawing which is really the most tedious of all, I had a fun and easy time shading. This time, I didn't use cross-hatching technique and tried to go back to hatching using dark and heavy lines because I thought it would suit the art more, especially when I got to the tree. Anyway, I was really pleased with the outcome and I really like how my Leorio rendition ended up. ^^
