Description
This was for a Redesign challenge over at Penciljack. I hated Robin's costume (colorful tights - ugh!), so decided to give it a shot. I went for the "urban ninja" look.Some changes:
- Got rid of the green and most of the yellow.
- I gave him some real armor. The red breast-plate is supposed to be like the bird. Kinda.
- A bigger utility belt. Why not?
- Made the staff into nunchucks, just because I like nunchucks.
- Put metal studs on his kneepads and knuckles. If I was a little kid fighting full grown men, I'd fight dirty.
- The classic "R" is huge, and the yellow clips holding the plates together are from the original costume.
He could probably hide stuff in those big gloves, but I'm not sure what.

Actually robin's supposed to be based off of Robin Hood so the ninja thing doesn't really work

Just about every single superhero costume redesign amounts to "add lots of black." This design you did manages to remain original by changing the entire style and fit and concept of the outfit. So despite following the crowd colorwise, you succeed in standing out with creativity and great execution. Nice!

interesting. it looks like a mortal kombat character to me. i think spiky hair could have made him look cooler.

I don't know if the Punisher should be ninja-fied, I think maybe make him look like a one man SWAT team? Anyways, just throwing it out there...

You should definetely do more of these redesigns... Like the Ultimate Marvel look but for DC. Because, honestly, DC has some of the most ridiculous outfits...

Damn right! But having that hair out could get him grabbed and slashed by dirty fightin' grown men...
