Description Some fan art of *Dragoness77 's animal Lhune. I had fun with the cross-hatching - makes it not as 'same-y' as all my other recent stuff. : )

The one thing that struck me the most when I saw this is that is has a very horse-like head. Not that it's a bad thing, dragon heads are much akin the shape of horse heads. I started out drawing horses which has greatly helped me in drawing the correct anatomy and body shape of dragons. Though now any dogs I draw tend to have more horse like hind-ends.

To be honest, I believe your work to be more smooth in its rendering, but thank you very much for the compliment! You are very kind.

Fff you make her look so REAL! <3 Oh wow. I could just sit and stare at this for hours and admire every little detail. You also made her face structure very pronounced which is exactly how I envision her <3. I love the detail around her eye, it makes it just that tiny bit more realistic, just like other small things such as the wrinkles at the back of her skull and the shading on the teeth. Your attention to detail like that has always been amazing but to see it applied to my own character just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside haha <33.

I really don't want to crit this but I still can't help but ask if you gave her a mouth membrane? I'm not sure if it's that or if you purposely didn't crosshatch the background inside her mouth x3. That's really just nitpicking though and entirely my own mistake since my ref of her is not very good and doesn't show her as well as it should *is now reminded to make a more detailed ref of Lhune*.

Thank you so very much Leccathu, it's absolutely amazing. You should definitely experiment with the crosshatching more, it's a very neat effect :3.

I left out the crosshatching behind the open mouth on purpose - I had done some crosshatching within it previously, but the lines really threw off the image as a whole and made it hard to figure out what was what. It is a little odd, but I hope that with more experimentation with other things I can make it work somehow. The mouth membrane is the part from the corner of the open mouth to the little shadow/'hole' further back along the mouth, which may be a misinterpretation but I don't believe it to be as multiple sources described an extra opening along the jaw membrane/'cheek'. She is meaning to be smiling, though it might not look like it from her facial anatomy. Sorry that it's confusing! :S

I am REALLY happy that you like this as much as you do! I had a mind to tell you about it but was too tired to get around to it last night. I was working on this in Sculpture class while there was nothing to do, and I received a lot of positive comments on it while I was there and while I wasn't (I was across the studio when I overheard people talking about it >>').

I really will have to explore with the crosshatching! Well-executed crosshatching is one of my favorite looks for sketches, as it has an artistically expressive yet fine look to it. If well done, it really adds so much character to an image. Thank you, and again, I am really happy that you enjoy it! ^^

Oh no no, I can see what you mean, it's really not confusing much, I was just wondering as there were really only two things it could be :3. I half guessed that you left out the crosshatching on purpose though which makes perfect sense now . It's not that big a deal really and it's still absolutely gorgeous none the less . She does look very happy ^^.

Every time I look at it again I notice little details again that just really make this piece x3. I love how I can tell from the way you shaded it that the crest on hear head is actually a thick bony ridge.

Thanks so much again .
