If you've been to my elfwood site ([link] ) then you know I did this pic of Sirius ages ago as part of a "series" on the black family. Well, I haven't actually been slacking off, I just started over. That picture belongs to a category of work of which I was extremely proud for a few weeks after I did them, but came to hate rather quickly. SOme pictures I will like for years afterwards, I don't know why some don't last as long. But anyway, I decided that I had to start over, and this time I started with Bellatrix. It's supposed to be her just before Azkaban--all the people in the series are supposed to be from when Sirius was about 16. I (and I think, I alone) imagine Bellatrix as older than Sirius, so she's about 19 here. The only trouble is, I have started to hate this series as well.... Kirsten laughes at me alot about this, my tendancy to start series over after getting halfway done with them. I always do it, it's why I avoid starting series in the first place.Related content

Why is it such an imperative for a woman (and not a man) to be sexy? How come you can't emphasize Bellatrix's destructive power instead of her tits? Then again, perhaps she's smiling haughtily because she's reciting a spell that will make said tits explode and project macerating shrapnel into the eyes and skulls of everyone present! Her real chest is unharmed, of course, since the bombs were assiduously crafted by the magical alternative universe Dr. 90210, who only serves the rich and fabulous pure bloods. As soon as Bellatrix came of age, she stopped wasting her time doing childish things like thwacking small mammals to death and carted herself off to the suave doctor with the approbation of her parents who gloated to think about all the muggles she'd kill at the renaissance festival.

Oh! Falling out of her dress... Nice face and stuff... You're not imagining it! When Sirius was 16, Bella would have been 25, Narcissa 21, Lucius 23(?) and I'm not sure about Andromeda; same age as Lcuius, I think. Belatrix is nine years older than the Maurauders, 44 during her appearance in OotP. And that does sound just a little perverted, Mizutamari... I love the dress and the shading is amazing! How long did this take you? ^_^

It was a good idea, I do so love the Blacks. I'd have to start over though, because I'm picky and I don't like these old pictures anymore

But they're really quite good! Just a few flaws but nothing to really detract from the picture. I think you should redo this series and possibly even a few prints with them. (I'd buy!) Seriously, it'd be really neat.

I don't think your alone in imagining Bellatrix to be older- she's older than Andromeda, who has a 20-something year old daughter. Sirius would only be old enough, considering the Potters married and had a child young, to have a child of 14 or 15 if that, so Bellatrix and Andromeda have to be between seven and fifteen years older for it to work.

Have you read Pride and Prejudice? I saw this and immediately thought of Mr Bingley's sister who fancies Mr Darcy... sorry if you haven't read it! I really like how you've coloured it, the shading is gorgeous, and can totally see that it could be Bellatrix! I really like the necklace, and how you've done those creases on the puff sleave. Gorgeous work.
