Description After getting a lot of requests for "What color is that thing?" I decided to put together complete color guides for the new My Little Pony TV show characters. They're intended for informational purposes only and are produced independently. In most cases the swatches are researched from the official artwork. When that's not available, I used some analysis and my swatch libraries to get within the ballpark.

Remember to download the attached PDF file and use that for reference. Do not use the preview PNG for reference material, it's intended only for preview on DeviantArt. If you're using one of those browsers that calls up Google's HTML5 PDFViewer in DeviantArt, it mangles the color display since it is not color managed. As always, please view the PDF in Acrobat or a viewer that supports color management.

---

Octavia's not completely neutral in her greys. Hers fall more on the yellowish warm side for her body and stroke. However, hr hair strokes and fill are neutral grays. I've also included the complete color breakdown for her cello.

----

Because none of these colors could be reasonably described in a name system, I've elected to provide this guide in sRGB values.

This guide is not affiliated with Hasbro in any way and is produced solely in the interest of color science. For a changelog, more long-winded explanations, and other discussions, see this forum topic: [link]

What exactly do you mean by the % on the hair fill? I'm using Inkscape by the way.

It's a certain percentage (0% to 100%) of black in CMYK. It should have CMYK sliders. I've never used inkscape. However, you should be able to eyedrop or copy the swatch color when opening the file. At the last resort, you can rasterize the PDF in photoshop.

The 2.0 guide will make this easier... when I get around to it. Sorry.

I'm new at this. For the bow tie I'm having trouble knowing what part to copy and past.

In this particular guide (until it gets updated to 2.0 status) you should use the eyedropper tool on the swatch provided to copy the color.

Just in time.
I was about to do an Octavia vector.
Also, when I threw this into Illustrator, and saw the drop-down menu, I saw Pantone this and Pantone that.
What I was suggesting, that when I did this, it would show up as Hair Stroke, Hair Fill, Body fill, etc. in the Swatches menu.
That make sense?

There may be a bunch of residual swatches showing up in that file, which I probably should have cleaned up. Don't load the palette from it. Copy/paste the swatches from the actual list on the left side.

I COULD go and do that, but that's, you know... work. Maybe next time. :V I apologize for any inconvenience.

I just have the guide showing and map the colors. Pantone to Name of Color from guide; it works for me.
I mean, do you do these guides in Illustrator? Cause, I've noticed the vectors line from Fluttershy once.

No worries.
Also, I'm working on some new ponies and I'm sure you'd love to "guide" them for the colors.
