Description ergh, ~20min? Couldn't get a solid idea going of an enviro, or much of anything... So i just noodled around so that I could go to bed knowing I did something tonight.

more of a speed silhouette than a painting :/

I need to ask a few people what sort of brushes they use, should help me alot...

With your landscapes, can I suggest larger, more akward (to you) brushes to put in the shapes. The metal looks good with the highlights. The porportion with the tank turret and its treads its cartoony. Looking at tanks from WWII and modern day the two part make up 50/50 of its overall shape.

ooh! really nice but if i were you i wouldve increased the glare in the upper left corner just to give the feeling of battle/explosion...

hmm, I can see that- I'm not too sure whats going on up in that corner, but as is -- it does sort of feel a little cutoff

Hey man great concept. Kinda reminds me of Advanced Wars for some reason, probably the short canon. It's got a nice energy about it and has a lot of interesting brush marks. As for brushes, i recomend Lavente Peterffy's brush set [link] , full of useful texture brushes for speedpainting.

that's freakin crazy man. that reminds me of Jae Lee style transformers. lovin it.

as for brushes i used to use lots of crazy rake and chalk brushes mixed with textures from google but kinda got lazy and just went with a good old round brush.

i always keep it on 100% with the pressure settings on.

to avoid that common "creamy" look, i'd suggest big broad strokes mixed with fine intricate strokes to signify details.

i've been in a funk as of late so i'm not really much to talk, heh. but a friend of mine, ionwhat, has some pretty sick examples of brush shape and brush work:

I'm digging his stuff, gonna sit and try to digest his approach.

I really need to work on getting some chalk and rake tools into my set- I've had them before but I'm usually too stubborn to switch to them- Most of all tho I should try to wrap my head around oils, I think they could replace my scratch board tool, and be more effective overall.
