yes. Also goes with color work or studies. Big shapes are important. And it's very important to know how to simplify things.

I am always having to remind myself of that and try to do that in different ways a lot. Well done. It is a technique with shapes I should try sometime too.

Yeah, i try to learn to siplify things as much as i can and block-in colors or values with big hard-edgeg brush. It's pain in the ass when you don't use soft brushes, overlay layers, filters, layer masks,.. but it makes you think more

Hahah I totally understand. Especially with digital painting you almost have to relearn your own style or technique and it can definitely be a pain in the ass. lol
