Oh, this is so wonderful! Your style is just absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to look at, and just as much I love your portrayal of the subject matter. I really feel like you nailed what Minerva must have felt after his death! This was so beautiful, thanks so much for sharing!

Clever idea, and very well executed. I always question why Horgarts didn't have any arts subjects. We known from canon that both Dean Thomas and Luna Lovegood have artistic talent. Surely, the kids should be taught formally, but we don't even hear of extra-curricular drawing/painting club. It's one more way that students from all Houses could have interacted and thus, have helped break down barriers and prejudices.

you're welcome!^^
it was a good decision to add him, in this way it seems (to me^^) as if Minerva would talk to him at the beginning.

this is lovely, and i like how you've drawn the characters. its more like the images in your head, not influenced by the film or other artist's renderings.

Now, this really made my day: thank you!
You know, it was a bit difficult, at first. For several reasons, I've never tried to draw lots of adult characters of the saga (or think thoroughly about their features), so when I actually had to give them all a body and a face (I said 'all' because more teachers are involved in Part 2) I felt a bit stunned and spent quite some time in front of a white sheet...
Filius was particularly hard, because the books don't give you a meticulous description (we know much more about Hagrid and Slughorn, for example..they're somehow 'easier') and I don't like the last movie version (the first one, in PS, was more on my wavelenght...);
You're right: I try to be as less influenced by the movies as possible, for a very simple reason: mostly, they don't reflect the characters in my head.
I think they did a very good job with McGonagall, Sprout, Quirrel, Hagrid, Lucius Malfoy, Molly Weasley and Richard Harris' Dumbledore and I appreciated Lockhart and Slughorn (though visually different from 'mine') but, even cheking other artists' pieces, are characters that give you a strong image and the impression we got from the books is more or less the same everywhere...
All this messy ramble just to say: thank you for your words;
they make me feel like I'm going into the right direction, for once!

you are very welcome, and i completely understand. i don't know if you know, but most of the teachers and adults were the actors and actresses that Jo Rowling wanted to play the parts, and although i like that you don't let that affect you, i have to commend you for that.

yes, she wanted Alan Rickman as Severus. surprising, i know, but true. her first choice for Albus was Richard Harris, whom we saw in the first two films before he passed away, and her second choice was Michael Gambon, who i think did a fair job at the role. i totally understand your surprise, because although this is a known fact, most of the fans don't realise that she had a list of whom she felt could play the adult.
i do hope to see more in this comic, because it would be so cool to see The Cup in his portrait.

Yeah, I knew about Harris; I felt pretty sad, because I've liked him for quite some time; Gambon was not bad in my opinion, though he looked more like a warrior, to me...he kind of lacked that aura of powerful elegance I always associated to Dumbledore. My fault
I'm not really surprised at the fact that she had a list, it seems fair and almost natural that she gave some thought about the matter, it's just that the equation Snape=Rickman does not make sense to me...
You know, I like him very much as an actor, but I never felt Snape in him, never saw him in his features...
Just a matter of points of view, I suppose
Part 2 in progress...who knows what will be hidden there?
