Haven't been posting many pictures lately because I've been filling my time with portraits for local people through word of mouth.This is a portrait I did for a friend of her beautiful granddaughter. She wanted her in a scene as a princess. It was a fun painting to make.
Adobe Photoshop and wacom as usual. Took about three days.
I'll post more portraits soon.

I think it is the size of the head. It is way too large in proportion to the shoulder span. Two head heights wide for the average person.
Other than that everything else looks beautiful. I like the satin feel to the dress material and embroidery. Great job.

Beautiful. Especially that long gown flowing down the steps, done in exquisite detail to flow down the contours. Beautifully drawn carved stone, and I like how she seems unperturbed by her rather forboding surroundings. As if she's a light in a surrounding world of darkness.

HMmmmm I can see your a good artist, but the face doesn't go with the rest of the painting. It looks a little photo shopped, like you stuck the face on an already existing painting....
I mean the dress and scenery is amazing, the face just sticks out. Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I really like a lot of your work.

I also think the head is too large for the body. Either that, or the body is too narrow. At first when I full-viewed I thought this was supposed to be macabre or abstract due to the odd proportions.
Great work on the embroidery of the dress though, and the setting in general looks wonderful

I do agree though her head looks too big (even though she is a kid) but I think the impression with the head comes from the fact that her body looks really long - compared to childlike features.

I agree. It looks like the head of a 6 year old and the body of a 20 year old thin, willowy woman. And the head is in a much more realistic style than the rest of the painting, which is more illustration-like (it still looks good). It's kind of the same sort of disjointed feeling that a photoshopped picture has.
It's very good, but I think it would be better if the head and the rest of the painting were in the same style.
