I'd say the cast is late teens or early twenties. They are young and have jobs or are going for their Masters of Magic degree like Twilight. Strongheart seams like she would be the 16/17 year old range.

In pony years anyway.

I made a similar conclusion and thought something like this, though with a different joke - it had Braeburn being threatened by a pieslinger and he says "You wanna repeat that to my WIFE?" and ginormous buffalo cow warrior steps out "Was there a problem?" And Braeburn thinks "Henpecked - but safe!"
