There's a real lifelike feeling to your works. Maybe it's the blushes and other vivid colours.

Hi. I came by because my good friend Decarabia69's journal pointed you out. I have spent some time considering your page and work, so lets just get this out of the way. You are talented.
There.
I think it is so cool that you are showing in New York. I'll bet most of us would kill to show in New Jersey! haha. I would call you a lucky duck, but your work from a distance looks like the Masters. You push an oil brush with obvious confidence, and though you may be nervous about your good fortune, I recommend you go at this like you own the world (with a dash of humility, which you seem to have anyway.)
If you hadn't told me this was a double self portrait, I may not have noticed, but I certainly see it now. Does this mean you were really drinking alone?
The glasses and bottle have a really lovely light cast. I can believe they are glass. I have found glass endlessly frustrating at times, but I am not a great observer of nature. You did a fine job.
This painting reminds me of teenage drinking, which i did a fair amount of (most have). It kinda makes me giggle. The expression on your face connotes either your determination in drinking, or that very moment when your mother opens the door and sees her marked bottles violated.
Lots of personality good job. I intend to make more comments but they may not happen tonight. If not I will pick up tomorrow. Good luck with your show, I hope you can squeeze a good catharsis out of it.

Actually my show was in upstate NY, and it's been there for a month and a half and I sold nothing.. Though when I went they had no price lists left and were supposed to make copies.. So of coarse, how the hell am I supposed to sell anything.
Yes, this double self portrait is about drinking alone.. and about the two personalities that one can get from drinking. Haha well I do get in trouble a little too much for drinking my mom's wine. So you're right on that part.
Thanks again.. for all your comments...!!!

I feel your frustration about your show. I had a show a local gallery/record store just before I joined dA. I had bought a really lovely printer, and made 56 prints, all different, and didn't sell a single thing but two of my postcard packs. I has taken me a long time to get over such a poor showing. The build up inside me, all the work on art and preparation was mighty powerful, and the letdown was abyssal. Not abysmal but abyssal, which is of course much lower.
No price lists left, no copies made, so typical, but it was a restaurant, so setting expectations low is good. Mine are rock bottom for record stores right now. Blasted hippie town.
"Yes, this double self portrait is about drinking alone" I am glad I was right about this. I feel perceptive.

Herm eyes... they captured me, and I was held prisoner. Absolutely, awesome. What more can I say?

Wonderful canvas. Anna Greaves turned me on to your page. I love your work. Representational artists get not enough respect. Thanks for sharing.
