Description Having drawn heimdall wanted to draw his nine maiden mothers, the billow maidens, daughters of Ran and Aegir.
My versions are Nonuplets, all identical except their hair and eye colours, (impossible in humans but among the magic wielding races your hair and eye colour is more often determined by the colour of the branch of magic you will develop an affinity for than it is a result of genetics. aka my excuse for almost none of Odin and frigg's kids share their hair or eye colour, cos I don't wanna draw everyone with the same hair and eye colour I would get bored so fast XD) being so many of them Aegir found it quite hard to connect with his daughters, this was made even harder when they turned 10 and learnt to shift their hair and eye colours to look like each other. They thought it funny to play tricks on their father so he would think he was getting to know one and connecting with them only to find out he's been having conversations with several daughters masquerading as one. This left Aegir very confused and sadly he never managed to really get to know any of his daughters properly- They in turn thought the fact he couldn't tell them apart proved he didn't really understand them (their mother Ran can always tell them apart even when they swap hair and eye colours) convincing them that all men are foolish and only pay attention to whats on the surface.
They all work with their mother in her mission to drown as many seafarers as possible, especially fishermen, as they see them as a threat to their beloved ocean.
It was to help them in this work that they created heimdall. (all are witches like their mother) The intended him to be a construct, a being of pure magic that mimics life but is incapable of independent thought or emotion, they all put their hair into the making spell and this was why it didn't work as planned. When one person makes a construct they must put some of their DNA in to bind it to them, but when multiple people put their DNA into a construct the combination of DNA makes it closer to a real living thing almost but not really like a child of the 2 or more people that made it. (this is more or less why humans which were made of magic are real living things not just mindless constructs, but we're a little more complex cos we were originally carved out of wood which is a living thing so further altered the spell) Essentially the billow maidens assumed cos they were identical twins, ie same DNA, they assumed it would work like one person making a construct except because they all put something in the construct would be bound to obey all of them. But the magic recognized them as separate people in spite of identical DNA so instead of a mindless soldier they got a little baby. Heimdall. They decided not to let this ruin their plans and basically raised him as if he were a mindless soldier making every effort to crush any hint of personality free will or individuality and teaching him these things were evil and a symptom of his wrongness that he must overcome. Hence his HUGE issues and firmly held belief he is not a real person.
They gave their construct real good eyesight to help them spot the fishermen but since however good your eyesight visibility ion the sea will always be limited they focused more on giving the construct incredible hearing so he could hear anyone that entered the ocean. For a long time they used Heimdall as a tool to help them kill and he hated it and eventually couldn't take it anymore and ran away, but he had no idea how to live his life without someone ordering him around so he went to Asgard to offer his services to Odin, a King he wanted to serve. Odin did his best to persuade him to learn to be a person but it didn't go massively well.

If anyone actually read all that please let me know in the comments so I can thank you
What I do is I make up a load of nonsense cos it sounds fun,. I then spend a real long time inventing a whole load of rules and backstory to try to make sense of the nonsense

Also had to do this digitally cos no way am drawing the same head 9 times XD

Poor Heimdall. With those mothers, it's no wonder he has issues.

"Making sense of the nonsense" is how we end with the massive manual Bram is writing. xD

hehe given his obsession with Sigyn Heimdall would probably prefer you to distract loki so he can steal her XD except of course that'd be braking the rules and heimdall refuses to do that XD

Well my heimdall wants her because he thinks she'd the embodiment of good sweet obedience. Loki loved her because she's not. XD

Sheesh, my Loki would hate her. He loves Angie because she's like him, a total bad girl (well my Loki's not a girl but you know what I mean) who is amazing in bed, among several other reasons.

Like I said heimdall thinks she's like that but Loki loves her because thats not at all what she is really like.

Loki doesn't know Heimdal has feelings for sigyn,. if he did he'd tease heimdall for it and almost certainly get killed for it. and Heimdall has never spoken to sgyn, he swears he loves her but has no idea who she really is at all. He's read too many fairytails where people fall in love at first sight, he doesn't realise it's nonsence and that you have to actually get to know somone to love them.-

it never gets worked out. It's the real reason my Heimdall hates loki

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SacredlyMythic In reply to Iglybo [2017-10-02 21:07:27 +0000 UTC]

That kind of seems like bad writing. Like, you gotta get this resolved at one point. Also, that's not a reason to hate someone. If anyone he should be blaming whoever forced Loki and Sigyn together, as yous aid they were forced together in the first place.

Iglybo In reply to SacredlyMythic [2017-10-02 21:17:35 +0000 UTC]

Not all problems have to be fixed, it's a part of who heimdall is that he has this constant lingering resentment, countless people try to help him work through his issues but at the end of the day you can't save soemone that doesn't want saving. If he resolved his issues then he would kill Loki without being killed by him at ragnarok, his irrational anger is what leads them to both get killed and since thats what the myths say thats how it has to be. Not every problem has to be resolved in a story. I know a really good writter's blog by a published author that explains about the need to not always resolving every problem, I could try and find it for you if you are interested?
And he hates Loki because sigyn likes him, they aren't inlove from the start but they are very close friends from the beginning and heimdall is convinced that Loki being the slut he is he probably has taken advantage of her, which he would never do. But he also because he is jealous that he has what heimdall always wanted, Jelousy is a very common source of hatred.

Eh, alright. β˜…β€”_β€”πŸ’§

I think he'd get along with my Loki then since he's not married to Sigyn.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Iglybo In reply to SacredlyMythic [2017-10-04 13:13:19 +0000 UTC]

It's bad writing to resolve everything in a story, it makes conflicts seem pointless as you know they'll all get fixed.

I doubt it Heimdall very rarely gets on with anyone and heimdall hates anyone that breaks rules, plus he'd think he's a threat to asgard. Oh and your Loki hates Odin, Heimdall adores Odin and pledged his undying loyalty and service to him.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SacredlyMythic In reply to Iglybo [2017-10-04 15:30:57 +0000 UTC]

My Loki doesn't hate Odin. He's trying to convince himself he does because he's got some serious issues, but deep down he really still cares about his dear old blood brother.

It's complicated.

maybe.
Sir-hattington has a really amazing version of heimdall, she has him and Loki start off friends then well long story short shit happens heimdall does somthing he thinks is helpful to Loki but loki doesn't want him to do, Loki respond badly, and they end up hating each other from pretty early on.

Her's has PTSD from the Aesir Vanir war and she's really done her research so she portrays the condition properly which makes such a difference, so many writers don't do the research and portray mental health conditions all wrong or just say the character has a problem without ever working out what problem so you get inconsistent and unrealistic symptoms.
