Description
Had a few ideas for Loki that didn't fit into my current version and may have accidentally come up with a whole new loki Thing is am very attached to my current version so I don't want to scrap the one I already have… so thought I'd draw alternate Loki note down his back story then go back to drawing my regular Loki XD
Also this Loki is somewhat more historically accurate XD

Anyways so back story:

Childhood:
Born when lightning struck the dry leaves on the island of Laufey (it means leafy island) in the middle of a lake. He emerged from the ashes, and the spirits of the island protected him, making the foxes nurse him when he was very small and later had animals bring him food. He excelled at magic from a very early age and spent much of his childhood entertaining himself with his spells and playing silly childish tricks on the animals that looked after him. But in time he grew bored, and yearned to leave the island and explore the distant shore he could see through the mists. One night, when he was 15, he had a dream where a Fox spirit told him how to weave a complex spell into fox skin to make shoes that would let him walk on water and air. (the fox was his Fylgja en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fylgja think daemon/spirit guide, a fox one is a sign of a cunning, sly, magical person so Loki's would be a fox) When he woke he found one of the foxes that had nursed him had died in the night, so he tanned it's skin and crafted his famous shoes with the magic of his dreams.
He walked across the lakes surface to the shore he had stared at for so long. he soon found a town and began stealing every new thing he saw, not knowing that people would not appreciate this, they chased him out of town and he began to wander. over time he learnt to hide his stealing better, developed his shape-shifting skills as his notoriety grew. He travelled this way for several year till he was about 19.

Moving to Asgard:

One day he's relaxing in a pub when in Walks Odin, celebrating a victory in the area, seeing a chance to have some fun he offers to buy the all-father a drink, spiking it with the extremely potent dwarf whiskey. He took advantage of the increasingly inebriated Odin, persuading him to had over various precious jewels and getting any number of free drinks, the 2 start making trouble and find they have a shared love of tricks.
Drunk and delighted to have made an entertaining new friend Odin swore to drink always with loki, saying anywhere he was severed a drink Loki should get one too, then with a little prompting from the trickster, offered to give him a place in asgard, even made him his blood brother. Loki and Odin were then kicked out of the pub for unruly behaviour. Odin went back to his inn to sleep it off then headed back to Asgard with little to no memory of the night. Till Loki turned up on his door step and reminded him of his promise. A reluctant Odin gave him a hall and swore never to get drunk in jotunheim again. Loki had no real intention to stay but decided to hang out untill he got bored, but soon him and Odin became true friends and they travelled together with hoenir all over the nine worlds.

Oh and forgot to say so apprently red clothes were often a sign of the king's favour so the red is for that as well as for fire. ^^
