Born within RuneClan just before the start of their journey, for the first half of his life, Snowhare never knew a home other than that of his parents. His siblings had quickly been taken by hunger due to the cruelty of the journey, but Snowkit hung on long enough to eventually become Snowpaw. While the tom's reckless nature made it difficult for his mentor to train him, Snowpaw didn't experience much trouble with his training... not until the incident.

While exploring a tunnel system alongside his parents in the hopes of RuneClan claiming it as a new home, the roof suddenly caved in over the three of them. Snowpaw, who had always been lithe and therefore rather agile, managed to escape the debris but lost his parents during the rockfall. Separated from the way they'd come in, Snowpaw wandered the tunnels for days, soon becoming hungry and weak and terrified that the Clan had moved on, leaving him to die. The worst part, however, was the darkness- it was pitch black, and so any progress Snowpaw may have made towards an exit could easily be tossed away by a wrong turn, leading him back into a circle. And eventually, Snowpaw gave up.
Sobbing in the darkness of a tunnel, Snowpaw was shocked to suddenly feel the warmth of another body beside him. While he couldn't see the other cat except for her bright green eyes, Snowpaw accepted her presence gratefully. Seated beside him, the mysterious she-cat spoke to him, telling him not to give up hope and comforting him when he explained to her the loss of his parents. Eventually, she instructed the tom to walk, and, not seeing any point in arguing, Snowpaw followed her blindly, guided only by the warmth of her pelt. The two walked and spoke to each other for hours, and eventually, the crushing hopelessness of his situation... didn't seem so hopeless. Suddenly, however, Snowpaw was practically blinded by the light of the moon- the she-cat had lead him back to the surface. The tom had sat and stared at his surroundings in awe for a long moment, in a state of disbelief that he'd ever been able to leave those tunnels. Finally, however, when he turned around to thank the stranger... she was gone.

Snowpaw- Snowhare, once he returned to his Clan and was informed that he'd survived three days within the tunnels- never learned the she-cat's name. But she was so kind, so gentle, he couldn't help but love the she-cat who'd saved his life... the she-cat he'd never know.

Brindlepaw's ears perked as she listened to the deputy's speech, her tail waving in excitement. This was going to be great! Everyone hunting and gathering... as she stood up and stretched, she couldn't help that her mentor would want to go hunting. She told herself that she would be fine with either task, but the thrill of the hunt just seemed so much more heroic! Still, though, she had only just met the tom, and therefore it was hard to read the stoic warrior most of the time. Whatever he chose, it would come as a surprise to Brindlepaw.
