Hi Larry, how's that painting looking on your wall.
I think this one is a bit big to send over mate lol.
I'm not sure but I think they are putting something in the water.
Thanks mate.

It felt like an epic doing it, you know how long it has taken and by now you probably know why.
It has shifted a bit of pressure.
People have read it very well I think so that's encouraging, the one thing they have missed is she is riding out of order into chaos which I thought was a nice little touch.
Thanks mate.

My gosh you sure can paint up a storm! I have enjoyed all the comments here and your answers. The image is really well crafted and the message comes across loud and clear. LIberty has a negative value unless you have a noble path and a safe haven. Otherwise you are just lost.
This is great work Graeme and if you have been 'off the planet' then it has certainly allowed you to access something really magical here. I hope you win, megaluck, mate.

Thanks Tauri, my god I don't want to go there again just for a painting I'll smoke something instead lol
I think the idea has come across rather well, I like the comments too.
I hope I win also but it would be good just to get in.
You had any rain up there since the fires, we are just getting some now.

Buddhalassie In reply to graemeb [2009-10-05 20:05:56 +0000 UTC]
Why didn't you just smoke something the first time? I find it helps, especially with the 'black dog' lol!
Nah we haven't had any rain yet but there were some clouds a couple of days ago. They evaporated though. It has been getting up to 39C already and the terrible dryness is starting to drive me crazy..Itching skin, bleeding nose etc..hangin' out for the rain..glad to hear you are getting some.

Is that a hint with the 'Black Dog', I'm booked in there next Thursday and I used to have a dog we called Black Dog.
I have only ever had one joint that I felt went well, all the rest made me feel like shit.
Yeah it's been warming up down here too, we really needed the rain, first in months and after that dust storm it was very welcome. I wish I was getting some.lol

Yeah, the smoke is not for everyone; I find it helps with my various pains..but sometimes at the cost of my actually getting anyting done. I am a great believer in it as a therapeutic drug for health conditions.
But it sent several of my brothers crazier than ever..
Hmm was your 'black dog' a depresshead?

He got run over by a car so maybe. Gourd how sick is that.
I don't know exactly where it came from but there has been a lot of shit in my life over the past 20 years. I guess I'll find out. I love that old song line " There's someone in my head but it ain't me " I hope I can still paint after they get them out of there haha shit.

Maybe the trick is not to get the other person out of your head nut just to make friends with him! Good luck anyway, you will always be a consumate artist!

I don't think she is free either Sue. It's all very deep and meaningful[l as you may imagine but the horse has broken free but now it has to plough through the field to make headway so is it any better off.

I think you have it now.
The chick on a stick are an icon from the middle of last century over here and were called Cupi Dolls and were sold at Carnivals. It's a symbol of what girls used to think were good things to have.

I think they were meant to be something special but they seem so dumb now days but it was good to give her an icon to wave on her victory ride.
I think you are right about sex lives. I think the more I paint about this subject the more confused I get. lol

Hollywood carried on after Victorianism. Women are not what they tried, successfully, to make us.
I'm not a feminist, well only normally, but I object to the ideas they forced on us.

I think it's good to explore what could be but you must hold on to reality and come back to it.
I have looked at photos of models and even the wrinkles on their hands are photoshoped out, I wonder how long before they surgically remove some of these things on real models.

winklepickers In reply to graemeb [2009-10-05 13:17:01 +0000 UTC]
Plastic surgery can be too much of a good thing. I think that the pressure put on people at large to conform to the model we are shown every day, especially in advertising, is a real problem.
Look at the trouble around thin models. It's scandalous.

I have a photo of a very thin woman feeding a normal sized woman a biscuit, it's very surreal.
Have a look at my painting 'Fountain of Youth'.

Is that the one with Geraldine Ferraro waving the American flag, sounds like a compliment to me thanks.
I had no real thoughts of his work in my head it's more that I have come to the conclusion I have been painting about the effects of woman's liberation on today's young woman. I used to think I was painting the difference between today's teenagers and my generation which was true but the difference is there because of the hard fought for liberty of earlier generations.
The trouble now is with liberty comes responsibility and rules etc so are they really free, over here they all seem to be fighting each other and getting nasty.
Anyhow whatever it's caused by I'm painting it and Alex is posing for me aren't I the lucky one.lol
