Hi - I love your technique with oils (I am primarily charcoal and acrylic).."Her Strange Pilgrim" has inspired me to try oils, so that will be an adventure that starts at the end of this year..
Can you recommend any course of study, or books/artists/etc. that may illuminate your approach to oils? I would like to approach a similar style of technique and I understand it will take years of work.
Any advice you can share on the path you have taken to this point would be helpful

Hello - I am very sorry. I know this is a very late reply. But i will still try to answer your inquiry. And Thank you by the way for showing interest.
When i sold my second and third paintings back in 93. The first thing that i bought was a Salvador Dali book. Obviously that's the only thing that I can afford about him. Since then, i accumulated lots of books and magazines about art. Different artists, different techniques. I learned a lot from all of them. So it is a challenge to recommend a book or an artist that can represent my own approach in painting.
But for the sake of giving you a simple answer. Talking about "technique" per se, not "subject". I admire the approach of Diego Velázquez, Anthony Van Dyck, Rembrant Van Rijn, Ilya Repin, John Singer Sargent, Joaquín Sorolla and Anders Zorn.
I do not have any advise. I only have wishes,, I hope you enjoy painting as i do.
