I really like that the piece of paper is torn and burnt around the edges, that it's more a scrap of brokenness than something of beauty--it really helps portray the message of your poem, that broken promises are never beautiful, that broken hearts are never nice to look at or to feel.

I love the words you chose for this piece. It's always painful, to have a promise such as this broken by the one who always swore to protect your heart and soul. It's like trusting a traffic cop to do his job...only to be run over in the crosswalk on a red light. Gorgeously done.
