I'm not quite sure what happened here, but it doesn't look good for our heros...Anyway, here is my sketchie for Vires-Ultio aka Raven. she asked for a pic of Aang and Katara...not what would be expected of a Aang and Katara pic, but well...this is what came out when I sat down to draw. I actually really like it. It was drawn before my previous deviation +++JC Smooch+++, so you should see some similarities in the execition of each. I am particularly forn of the angel in this image. the viewer is clecarly looking down from above, and that is a unique perspective for me. anyhoo...hope you like it Raven!

Aww, poor Aang and Katara.. I like the sketch a lot..its looks real clean like you can see whats what. When I sketch I erase so much that after a while its like, wtf? XD; But you did great. <3

My interpritation on it is that Aang was captured and is in chains/shackles. Katara was also captured and used as a means to get Aang to tell about the secrect he knows about the fire nation. Neither Aang nor Katara will speak so they kill her to show Aang what will happen to him if he doesn't 'spill the beans'. He now looks over her body in remorse wondering what to do and if life is even worth living after she is gone.....
ok....that was a long interpritation....
I love the feeling in this picture. It makes an ex-fanwritter's mind flow with inspitational juices. KEEP IT UP!

wow...I like the concept. I really enjoy exploring the potential darkness that lies just beneath the surface of this show. Avatar goes closer to bad things than any american produced series has in a long while, and that breeds all kinds of interesting ideas, hence the angsty fanart ^.^

Keep it up. I'm getting tired of seeing all the nice happy pictures of them. They all have had some kind of horrible experience. Aang lost all of the airbenders, katara and Sokka lost their mother and Zuko lost his mother and honor/royalty...

This is a great fandom piece. I love the anatomy and positioning combined with the unique angle. As for what happened, this is my take: It looks to me that they've been captured and tossed in a cell. Since Aang is basically the Hoodini of the bunch, it looks as though his hands are bound. The healer, Katara, is unconscious, so she's no help, plus she is the one that keeps everyone else grounded, so in a cellroom, she would be the one to boost the moral giving cause to keep her unconscious. As for Sokka and Toph, I would imagine Sokka got away, maybe with Toph's help. It'd be easy for an earthbender to dive underground and stay there. Heh.. oops, this got long...anyways, that's my perspective.

I did this as a request from a friend. she wanted me to draw a picture of Aang and Katara, and this is what came out. She is supposedly working on a fanfic to go with. ^__^

I think that Aang accidently hurt her.
That's why even though he looks concern he isn't touching her. Because he's afraid he'll hurt her even more.
Then I remember that episode where he accidently burned her. Sokka is going to be pissed. Sokka would beat the crap out of him and Aang will let him because he knows he deserves it. Then I imagine that it's Toph who has to pull Sokka off of Aang.

Exactly. I finished the picture and was like...crap...I hope Sokka's ok. For something like this to happen and for him to be nowhere in sight...it just doesn't bode well. I have another evil Avatar pic in the workings...but it'll prolly take a while. I'll be attempting some fairly advance digital techniques...and I'm not sure if I have it in me still.
