I'm one of those people who hasn't watched Dr. Who, but I really like how playful this picture looks! The angle, how the Tardis is position, along with the uh....energy (sorry, blame my unfamiliarity with the source material) around him that comes out of his hand! I also like how you've shaded his hair and jacket!

Ha, I actually joined late to the party as well - it was during season 6, so nothing lost for you as well. Actually the initial sketch was positioned differently, but I thought it would add more dynamics if I simply flip it a bit and I actually like how it worked. You're absolutely correct - it is energy, I believe, the one of which Tardis is made (it's hard to say what Tardis actually is). Thank you for your nice words on the flow and shading! :]

Maybe I'll pick the series up when I have the time; I've heard some very good things about it (including creepy Weeping Angels...). Glad to hear I haven't made too much of a fool of myself regarding the energy-bit. ;D
It definitely adds more dynamics and it makes the picture look more interesting.
