this is how ive long thought an alien invasion might actually start. throw some asteroids into the planet you want to take over, wait until planet is slightly browned, done

Wow I never thought of that if aliens of some sort did have advanced enough technology they could just nab up an asteroid and toss it into us sheesh, makes sense.

yeah alot of sci fi authors suppose even an asteroid with a virus on it. imagine one genetically engineered to turn the native population into your species. kind of like a genetic neutron bomb. send that along ahead of your fleet and you just end up landing at a colony of your own kind ahead of you. i don't really think that's likely because if the society can make it across the stars they would think meeting themselves would be kind of besides the whole point of traveling anyway. boring. you travel the stars to learn about stuff that's different i think by definition. if you can make it to the stars conquest becomes quite besides the point really. there's plenty of resources out there for any species to gorge itself on without need of conquering to get them. ahh fun stuff to think about

Very true I love thinking about all the possibilitys of the universe, though I am not really passionate about it I get somewhat annoyed when I hear someone say no there are no aliens anywhere out there lol it's funny to me.

its very telling as well. like really, youv'e seen all the universe and know this from first hand experience. i dont think so. how about eating some humble pie. strange for artists to take that opinion too. to make art takes some openness i think. its funny to me too.

good job
but i don't like the bad quality of the stars in he background :/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

edlo In reply to Scorpidilion [2011-07-23 14:06:06 +0000 UTC]

Low quality?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Scorpidilion In reply to edlo [2011-07-23 18:30:11 +0000 UTC]

yaeh because you can see where you have erased the stars and all stars in the background have the same size so it looks a bit flat

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

edlo In reply to Scorpidilion [2011-07-23 21:52:39 +0000 UTC]

That is not precisely a quality issue. Anyway kept it simple since in reality you dont even see much stars in an orbit such as this [link]

edlo In reply to StefanHuerlemann [2011-07-23 14:08:01 +0000 UTC]

Hmm I dont know what or with what you guys are looking at but certainly there is no over sharpening or low quality issues here

StefanHuerlemann In reply to QAuZ [2011-07-19 16:29:00 +0000 UTC]

yeah. Its much oversharped for me. Hard edges and pixels everywhere

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

MichaiMathieu In reply to StefanHuerlemann [2011-07-19 16:58:01 +0000 UTC]

I have to agree with qaz here, the quality is very high. You can tell it is not over sharpened because of the nice smooth gradients in the atmosphere and lighting. Furthermore, it is nice to see some high detailed textures for a change rather than the usual over-gaussian to cover and detail orientated mistakes.

StefanHuerlemann In reply to MichaiMathieu [2011-07-19 17:06:57 +0000 UTC]

idk what im seeing but to me it looks like low quality. even the blue gradient in the background looks LQ. maybe its just my strange pc but idk...

QAuZ In reply to StefanHuerlemann [2011-07-19 16:33:07 +0000 UTC]

I think there's a difference between oversharped and low quality!
