An dyet it actually looks peacful, not a soul around and calm waters are covering the dead land...Perhaps this is not the end, but a whole new beginning for a supirior race to evolve. The ruins are a constant reminder of the folly of the last race !

It's a good idea. Only the contrast\brightness balance is a weak point here therefore it's hard to establish the part of light and concentrate on objects. For the subtle tuning it might need to rerender the image with some tweaks, specially in lighting.
